Seriously, it is now nearly a month after launch and NO ONE has anything other than founder editions. People who have managed to get one are hawking them on NewEgg/Amazon/BPH as private sellers for 25% over MSRP. Has anyone heard anything, because I have only been able to find one article in the last month about the lack of supply of non-ref GTX 1070 cards.

I have $350 burning a hole in my pocket that I've been sitting on since Xmas earmarked for a new video card (planning on buying MSI 1070 Armor OC 8Gb) and they simply are no where to be found online.

Just be patient. NVIDIA's launch this time around was basically a paper launch with a small amount trickled-in supply of cards. Some sources are going around saying the 1080s and 1070's are the best selling cards of all time and that's why supply is low but when the 1080 has been listed on Newegg for over a month with only a couple dozen reviews, it's pretty clear what's really going on.

Yeah, Nvidia needs to stop with the lies. The problem is the very limited supply.

It's not like the RX 480 is in stock for MSRP price anywhere either.

@SerOlmy: you can buy one from Israel, we have no problem with GTX1070 and 1080 since the prices here are so high that almost no one can afford them XD

Stocks will be fine once AMD will release their RX490

@SerOlmy: The cheapest GTX1070 at the moment from PCPartpicker is Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 8GB G1 Gaming at $419.

You can order one from SuperBiiz and wait :P

37% more expensive that Amazon price, according to zap.co.il. :\

Whatever, I'm good with my GTX 960 which I got for a nice price on Black Friday.

@SerOlmy: 1080s too. It took me for freaking ever to get one. I had to refresh Newegg 50 to 100 times a day. Not only that but Newegg increased the prices on all of their 1070s and 1080s. When this card was first listed and sold out it was $629. Now look at the price...

Yeah, the prices are straight up crazy on both the 1080 and 1070 right now. It seems like they either have supply issues, didn't anticipate the demand (lol), or it was a paper launch and going to take months to actually get them in stock. I would wager it is some combination of all 3, but I am leaning towards paper launch.

Regardless, I'm not paying the insane prices of the scalpers, so I guess I'll be waiting another couple months before buying. It could be me, but I don't seem to remember this happening with previous generations.

Not a good distribution. Some stores in Norway got well over 400 cards (GTX 1070) at hand over some 8-10 different brands/editions.

Asus strix seems to have the best stock for 1070's here, plenty available, but it's a bargain at mere 579€ lol

This makes the 970 launch look good in comparison.

At least the 970s stayed the same price.

1070gtx is a rip off. I was going to get one but the non founders editions cost as much as the founders ones. Nvidia had some really misleading advertising about the MSRP of the non founder cards, nobody is following the suggested price at all. On top of all that, retailers are overcharging on the cards because of the low amount of stock.

I'll just sit back and wait for a really good sale or just skip out this generation completely. The 1060 is even more of a joke, it costs more than the 970, and is only marginally faster... and the MSRP is way overpriced on that card line also.

I got my gtx 1080 at bestbuy. They had 3 gtx 1070's on the shelf as well. Unfortunately they only carry the FE cards but I was tired of waiting and had some gift cards to burn to bring the price down a bit.

l had to wait a week or so to pick up an MSI 1080 Gaming X because of delays and low stock. there are stock checker sites I browsed regularly that helped me to snap one up. I ended up paying about 40 pounds more than the RRP but UK prices are all over the place anyway since Brexit. If you can afford it and find one, they're amazing cards and well worth it.

I finally ordered a Gigabyte 1070, it's out of stock but the price was finally reasonable. I'm not expecting to pick it up for at least 2 weeks.

Get on mailing lists. The Gigabyte G1 goes in stock roughly every two weeks. And EVGA will be very vigilant about letting you know as well.

You are right, I purchased the Gigabyte Windforce for $529.99 CAD, which works out to a bit over $400 in USD. I checked newegg.com today and the same card in USD was nearly $490, blew my mind. If you converted that to CAD the cost would be $637.

There's no such a thing as i7-6600... you mean i5-6600 or i7-6700? GTX 1060 looks like a nice card. In my eyes it's a $250 6GB GTX 980 (at least it performs like it judging by game benchmarks). You won't be disappointed. It should run pretty much everything on Ultra @ 1080p. Which GPU were you running before?

I purchased a G1 Gaming GTX 1070 for $430 from newegg few days ago. I'm really liking this thing. Prices on 1070 keep bouncing around. Right after I got my G1 it sold out, went up to $470, sold out dropped to $430 and again $470. So prices are all over the place right now and best cards are sold out pretty much constantly. I was lucky enough to get a decent one for an okay price.

Agreed! This card lives up to its hype in terms of noise level. Much quieter than any top-end card I've owned in the past.

The drought has already gone and the average price is close to normal. Non-reference 1070s are starting at $440, a jump from MSRP of $379. But honestly, that's not much of a surprise. They're milking the customers who wanted to jump onto the 980, 980 Ti bandwagon but were not willing to pay the buy-in price.

Many vendors seem to have Asus Strix version of 1070 in stock here. Price is a salty 580€, which translates to $636 USD. Basic models are around 530€. Still salty, but what can i do... thanks to the 24% VAT.

I got my EVGA 1070 GTX FTW from newegg a few weeks ago. If I was able to find one, I would have gotten the 1080 but 1070 is also pretty impressive.
