That be mildly insane... TBH i can't see myself ever spending a lot on a new rig all at once. Perhaps if i decided to build a purpose built workstation i'ld spend 2-3k but still i'ld spend relitively little on it straight away and then upgrade later.

Because the 1.5tb drives are significantly cheaper per gb but the 2tb drives are faster.... though it does seem a bit like trying to but out a house fire by pissing on it...

Probably because 2 are sata 6.0gbps, and the mobo only has 2 inputs for them.

Anyway, even if I was a millionaire I wouldn't get that. Might spend that much or more on putting together a sick pc, but not from a preselected kit.

Not on my life. I have that kind of money and could and wouldn't. Not that I'd hold anybody who made that decision back or anything against them. I guess I'd need to be another level of rich. You know the level where you don't work for your money but where your money works for you.

Fair enough, didn't see that. Don't see why you would need more than 4TB's though. :o

It depends on what you do really. I know my brother churns through HDD space like crazy. He has 6TB of storage and needs more. Well, the components are of quality that's for sure. But would I justify spending $6K+ on (only) a PC tower? Short answer, No.

It's easy to churn through several tb the thing is that at that amount you should really switch to having a file server and just having apps on your client PC.

Those are definitly some hardcore componants, for what i do on my system(mainly just gaming) i wouldn't buy that system, even if i had money to build that kind of setup i'd much rather build a much cheaper rig that could tear threw games at a much cheaper cost, especally with the crappy console port games we are unfortunatly getting on PC.

If i had a ton of money and just wanted all out power and performance, then hells ya i'd drop cash on those parts.

I'd probaly swap out some of the stuff on that bundle too, like Windows 7 Ultimate is pointless for me, give me Home Edition and it's more then enough for what i want it to do. Also if i'm building that crazy of a rig, i'd just go with a custom water cooling kit.

That's overkill. For starters, who needs four 5870s? Also, how does that case cost $500?

I don't have enough money to buy that. And even if I did, I'd rather buy a cheaper computer and use the rest of the money towards something else.

Take it, sell it, build $700 - $800 rig, buy a 55 inch 1080P LCD, put the rest of the money towards the next inevitable car failure.

Geez, that money would be much better spent on a server based system.

Actually, it has 6 hard drives in three raid arrays. I've used raid and have come to the conclusion that it is completely pointless. The point of raid is its redundancy. I don't think I've noticed any difference in transfer speed between raid and just a normal hard drive.
