witcher beard

So, I want Geralt's beard to grow. I downloaded the dlc, and checked the box next to it on my configuration screen for the game in GoG galaxy.

1) anyone know if this is sufficient to activate the content in the game?

2) will it apply to my existing game, or should I start a new game before I get too far along?

I thought the beard grew the longer you played, no DLC needed?

@FelipeInside: You are correct. Geralt's beard grows naturally on the game's default settings, as far as I'm aware.

I think the DLC simply adds alternate bears and hairstyles to the game.

Now I have a doubt:

Does the original game come with the FREE DLC for different hairstyles and beards? I have the GOG version. Do I have to do something special to have this feature?

I mean, I downloaded a separate "free hairstyles DLC" from GoG, and it created two new checkboxes in GoG galaxy configuation section for the game: 1 for temerian armor and 1 for hairstyles. I don't think the hairstyles come with it without installing this (but I also thought this was needed for the beard growing to happen, so what do I know :-P )

geralt's beard WILL NO LONGER GROW if you install the beard and hair DLC.... that was specifically stated by the devs because they didnt think people would want the style to change if they manually picked a look.

so yeah, if you installed the DLC, you no longer get a growing beard.

"If having a foot-long soup-catcher dangling from Geralt’s chin isn’t your style, you can download a free Beard and Hairstyle DLC pack, which will freeze any style in place. “When you download the free Beard and Hairstyle DLC the growth of the beard will stop because we decided that when players want a predefined look, it would be weird to require from them to reapply it time after time,” explained Platkow-Gilewski."

Wonder how long his beard can grow. I'm not gonna shave it off from now on

only grows to a moderate man beard. you cant get any sort of crazy hell's angels beard going sadly.

Can you have it off and then start growing it again?

can you shave the beard completely off and have it grow back? yes. you can shave down to naked skin, and then grow the beard out again. takes about around 3-4 hours of play to reach max... which is sort of weird because that is technically only 3-4 ingame days. i dont know anyone that can grow a legit beard in 3-4 days.

can you turn off the DLC and have it grow again? that is a good question, as i see no way to remove the DLC once it is applied short of reinstalling the game.
