Just wondering how many here build their own PC's? Nothing beats a box at the front door with a bunch of parts :)

Custom here. In fact, I'm going to finish installing my custom liquid cooling system later today. When I drilled out the 6an connections on the transmission coolers to 5/8", alot of metal flakes fell into the pipes. I need to flush them out really well...

My first computer was a pre=built HP one that was bought just after XP first came out. I've recently built my own.

You know what is sad, I never even noticed how much I was getting ripped off buying pre-built from the store. At least I never tried to buy a gaming rig... My budget build is my sig, friend bought me the ram because he didn't think 2Gig's was enough, but 8... lol.

Customizing your PC experience to cater to what you want is one of the main attractions to buying a PC anyways, so it just makes sense to customize your own with any parts you desire.

I was going to ask whether to custom build my gaming PC or too pre-build , I had kinda leaning to getting a pre-build.. I have built all my PC in the past but kinda lost interest after I got my MAC BOOK for work. But I want to get back into PC gaming there is some awesome games out there on PC that I can't get or wouldn't want to play on my consoles. So I have been looking to buy a gaming PC but the alienware ones are awesome and so expensive for what they are.

So you guys reckon I should custom build again ??

Who do you guys pay your parts from .. I normally use dabs but I want an awesome gaming PC case . Yea I am a web designer I like shiny things

Ok that was a bit or a ramble

I own a custom computer store online (see sig) if you are interested, but honestly you can't beat the price and satisfaction of building your own. Minus an OS, Keyboard/mouse and monitor you could build a very nice computer for less than$300 from newegg.com. My build cost me $285 (also in sig) but a friend gave me most of the ram. Plan on saving hundreds building your own then from going to a store and buying pre-built.

I built my own. Many people here ask questions like "what is a good pre-built site?", so saying that most of us here build it ourselves is not true.

They don't really come here regularly though, they only come for an answer to their question. I think all the regulars custom build.

Usually i do it myself. However, ive been planning on making a completely new rig and i actually get a pretty close price range whether i bought all parts new from newegg or made a system from cyberpower so i think this time around ill go the lazy route and spend a little extra for warranty and labor.

59 custom builds and counting! not all for me, I build and sell custom pcs for people in the area, i make a small profit on them, although I still sell them less then you could buy the same thing at a retail store!

That's what made me decide to sell them online, it actually make's me sick what some "company's" charge for their systems. Or how about tech support, my towns local go to tech resource charges $100 to remove virus's $50 to crack open the case and tell you whats wrong. There making $150 an hour!?!? :P

Edit: Lets try this if anybody reads it Who has done their own custom overclocking? Using CCC to crank up your video cards don't apply :)
