Ok no double Samsung on this poll. And yes Sony and Panasonic are included.

For Toshiba, Vizio, Phillips, and Pioneer see part 2.

Sorry, no RCA, no Benq, no Haier, no Westinghouse, and no Prima. Why, cause they suck.

This. Also, plasma from my experience is better with standard definition than an LCD. By a noticeable margin.

I vote Panasonic. However, it would be better if you distinguished which technology we're talking about. Samsung makes great LCDs, but their plasmas burn really hot in my experience and burn in way easier than Panasonics. Also, Pioneer isn't making HDTVs anymore. Nine of their engineers went to Panasonic.

My vote would be Panasonic for plasma, but not for LCD. I'd vote Samsung for LCD, but being that the best Panasonic plasmas are better than the best Samsung LCD's, Panasonic gets my vote:-)

Samsung for LCD's. Too bad they're made in Mexico though and not USA. I question their long term reliability.

No Pioneer in part one?! :P, Yeah Panasonic would be my second choice. After Pioneer the best performance is that of the Panasonic V and Z plasmas. And that's not taking into account they're a couple grand less than the competitors.

Nothing wrong with most of these companies a lot of their TVs are good, but TC asked for the "best" and Pioneer made a Plasma that makes the other Plamsas and LCDs cry and second to them is Panasonic.

It's probably the most repair prone brand of the big players out there.
