There are many RPGs but even generics have some sot of difference in their classes. From Any genre (but you may put separate lists into certain genres if you want) which RPGs had the best of a certain class?)

In my opinion because of the open world I think Morrowind had the best spellcasters. Although it was really annoying to play one because of no mama regain it was cool just walking on watter and other fun little spells. The game really had no set classes they all custom lists of skills, every successful costume class usually had at least one school of magic. (Like enchantment which could always be useful no matter what kind of guy you are.)

For the best warriors I'll say World of Warcraft. They have different stances for diffeent styles and they had a number of skills for each weapon style (most weapon and shield since they met to be tanks, but they have skills for two-handers and dual weapons too.)

I haven't play any RPG for long because I get bored once easily and play through them slowly. I mainly play pure warriors or pure mages(I only like stealth in action games based on it like Splinter Cell). What certain classes were best in each RPG in your opinion?

The best summoner I've played by far would be Necromancers from Diablo 2. They weren't useful for much in hell, but marching an army or 30 skeletons, 30 skeleton mages, 20 reanimated corpses, and a golem while supporting them with curses was an absolute blast.

My favorite has to be the Mesmer from Guild Wars. It is such a unique class that it doesn't fit the usual class types. It was fun listening to people when talking about this class too. There were a lot who didn't have a clue what to do with them.

My second favorite is the Ritualist from Guild Wars: Factions. Its another odd ball class most don't know what to do with. However, when played well its a powerful and versatile class. Because of this I always grab the Ritualist henchmen when playing.

Care to guess how much fun I am having playing a Mesmer/Ritualist in Guild Wars: Factions?

I chose linear story telling like in JRPGs, not because I personally enjoy JRPG's more, I absolutely LOVED Mass Effect (and hell, I still do since I contrinue to play it here and there lol), but in a Linear way the developers get to tell the story uninterrupted and get to focus alot more on a solid story instead of multiple outcomes. Now this is all saying that the game story is good, if it sucks than I would easily go for a Mass Effect. But stories told in a linear way like FF7 just can't be beat.

I think best way of story telling is the linear jrpg way (although i haven't found good stories in any of the jrpgs i have played so far). Saying this, i generally prefer playing games like fallout. planescape even though their nonlinearity may affect the story a bit here and there

tho invariably tedious, online rpgs seem to have the best class system, due to the fact that it is necessary to keep a community interested and alive. imo, Guild Wars have the best class system i've ever played. each of them is deep, distinct and rewarding in its own fashion -- playing as ranger and mesmer in GW has provided me with some of the most engaging rpg moments.

similarly, i've heard that DAoC has an impressive amount of class choices. i've never played that, so i wouldn't know.

I think EverQuest has the best everything - but especially the best Necromancer.

The cIass could summon powerful undead pets, cast damage over time spells (and stack up massive amounts of damage), cast snares which slow down enemy running speeds, cast fear spells to panic enemies into running away, cast a spell which converts health into mana, cast lifetap spells which steal health from enemies and feign their own death.

The cIass was exceptionally versatile - worked very well alone, but also an excellent group class and a great raiding class as either a damage dealer or support character.

Easily the best balanced, most well rounded and most absolutely fun cIass I have ever played in a roleplaying game, on or offline.

I feel I might get flamed for this but I kind of enjoyed playing the Necromancer in Baldurs gate series.

I generally enjoy spellcaster classes, but ultimately the best classes for me to play have been in the elder scrolls series where your character is based on what skills you practise, so the character relates directly to the way you play.

Within more restricted classes I enjoy the mesmer/elemntalist combo from Guild Wars. Battlemages from Elder Scrolls and Amazon from Diablo. I try to play a bit in every style though just to make the game more interesting and challenging.

Ultima Online, where you essentially design your own class.

I hate JRPGs...half of the game consist of cutscenees, the other half nothing but talking.

With that said, a great RPG has to be linear. This doesnt mean it cannot have multiple endings or various sidequests, but imo RPGs tend to suffer from ADD if theyre not linear.

Seven different clans to play in Bloodlines, with both male and female being playable. So basically seven different classes to choose from. Personally, I prefer Brujah clan, although the nosferatu can be a blast to play as well. The reactions you get from people as the nos. are priceless.

Yes, DAoC had a great amount of class choices, and most of the ones I tried were great (although I only played one realm, so I didn't get to play any of the classes of the other 2).

My personal favorites are ones like Morrowind (which is my favorite). I don't think the story gets sacrificed with the non-linearness. I dind it even better because I can feel more like my character, choosing the outcome of certain things based on how I want to play.
