Ughh,,,,, Don't do either and get a radeon x1950 pro agp or x850xt pe AGP or 7900gs.. anything, for you..

It dont matter really since Both are not able to do much in new games and there performace in old games was poor.

But you do not want the x1050 I did not know ATI even made anything worse than an X1300 pro.

What do you mean by old games? I used to have a 6600GT and it could max out Half Life 2, as well as playing FEAR, Quake 4 and Call of Duty at medium-high settings.

For several months during its first year, maybe half the year, the 6600 GT was the very top of the Bang for the Buck heap; it's not bad at all even today, unless you throw one of the top three or four high-demand games at it (Oblivion being the best example). The X1050 is another renaming gimmick, for the X300 (and also is seen as a new name for the Xpress200 IGP), which before it was PCIe, was the Radeon 9600. In other words, SLOW. There is also an X1550, which is the renamed X1300, and did receive a very slight core speed bump-up when it was renamed.

The additional 128 MBs of VRAM do not make the slow card a bit faster!

P.S. For the most part, you only consider the trailing three digits in an ATI or nVidia based video device. Thus, an "050" is very low. Anyone interested in 3D animated game play should ignore all cards numbered lower than "600" for the last three.

P.P.S. Look at the name of the forum and the Stickies at th etop. This is not the Hardware Forum!

Half life 2 is beyond old and did not even push the source engine like new games do.

call of duty is a dinosuar and is quake 3 1999 era engine that Id software decided to give away the source code recently like doom since they will never use it again.

Quake 4 is the ever dying doom 3 engine that is on it's way out With games powered by unreal engine 3 and more advanced engines and even ID is getting ready to put it out.

Only medium and high ? And i am gussing that was at low res with low AA and no AF and no extras like 16xaf and 6xaa

Like i said poor performance and it would look even worse on a large monitor.

I remember when Nvidacalled6600gt the doom 3 cheep card or something a few years ago when doom 3was bigand had doom 3 on the heat sinks but I would not want to play the game on the thing,

I am certain that is what everyone is telling you. How is it you understand it differently? And the thread is still in the wrong forum.
