HL2 for me

Half Life 1 was great but just too long... Half Life Blue Shift was awesome.... But then HL2 came out and it became the best...

Opposing Force was the best of the HL1 games, and Episode 2 was the best of the HL2 games. I don't think I could pick between them, but I think I preferred Episode 2 more.

I always quite enjoyed Ep1. HL1 is probably the best of all of them though. Opposing Force was also fun.

Half Life > Half Life 2 > Opposing Force > Episode 2 > Episode 1 > Kleiner's Dance Party (rhythm music game) > Blue Shift.

I still prefer the original slightly, the top three in my list are close and the episodes are fantastic. Blue Shift is a blemish.

I have beaten Half-Life 2 more than a dozen times since it's release. So yea, my vote goes to HL2. And in my opinion, it's the best game ever made.

i tend to agree with this. i'm going to have to google for kleiner's dance party, never heard of it and sounds like it could deliver some hilarious moments.

For me, it's a tie between the original Half Life and Episode 2. But all the others are great too!

Half-Life > Half-Life 2 > Half-Life 2: Episode 2 > Opposing Force > Half-Life 2: Episode 1 > Blue Shift

To clalify, the first four in this ranking are so good, it's hard to really decide, although the first game will always be top. But I love them all, except Blue Shift, which I mearly thought was good.

It's been so many years since I last played HL1, I honestly barely remember it. I wasn't even 13 yet when I played it (I'm almost 21 now) so yeah.. So right now, I'd have to go with HL2, but of all of the episodes and the main game itself, I loved HL2 Ep. 2 the most.

The original. The second is way overrated.

I love the entire series dearly, but Half-Life 2 is hands down the best in my opinion.

Half-Life 1 was great.

Half-Life: Opposing Force was awesome.

Half-Life: Blue Shift sucked balls, utterly horrible.

HL2: Awesome.

HL2: EP1 meh.

HL2: EP2 was the BEST!.

Half life 2 for sure half life 1 was too hard for my taste although it was a good game I just liked half life 2s gameplay better and its story.

Half-Life 1: Boring, uninspired, looked old a year after it was released.
Opposing force: A total rip-off.
Blue Shift: At least it introduced Barney Calhoun in it, one of the very few good things about HL2. But except that, another rip-off.
Half-Life 2: Decent, gets a solid 6/10 from me. Though I don't understand why people call it one of the best games ever.
Episode one: WTH was this?
Episode two: has it's moments, but it's too short and also sounded very unnecessary in terms of story advancement.

HL1 is the best, at least until Xen. HL2 has a lot of filler content and abandoned what was good about HL, Episode 1 is boring and Episode 2 would be the best of the modern ones if it weren't for that terrible cave section. Haven't played the other ones.

Also, the HL2 games have some of the worst gunplay ever.

The first has the fondest memories, Blast Pit is still one of my favourite levels in any game. The second is almost up there as well, just didn't wow me like HL did for its time, but it's an outstanding game for different reasons. Shame the episodes, and HL1 expansions are so forgettable.

HL2E2 has the only part in any HL that genuinely scared the pants off me (guardian in the caves section), but the strider/sticky bombs are annoying- in fact, that's what I'm stuck on right now. -_-

Ravenholm didn't freak me out at all.

But I'm gonna have to say the original HL2 was the best.

The first game. Here's how I rank them:

Half-Life

Opposing Force

Episode 2

Episode 1

Half-Life 2

Blue Shift

HL2 is way overrated, only reason people liked it the was because of its physics engine and how great the game looked at the time.

Half Life 2: Episode 2, I felt a stronger emotional attachment to the characters mianly because of the previous games. I also thought the game had the right balance of everything great in the Half Life franchise from puzzle solving, driving sequences, storytelling, and action.

Half Life: Opposing Force, it's what introduced me to the series and it blew me away, it felt so different than Half Life, but in a good way.

Half Life 1 without any doubt. I regard it as one of the best games of all time
