Which game should I get? My folks wanted to get me a new game to go with my new PC. I have played The Original Call of Duty, and the Xbox port of Half-Life 2. I will be playing both online & off. I can't decide.

CoD4 is better on consoles, and Orange Box is better on PC, but they're both amazing games. If you had to pick one, and it's for the PC, I'd go with Orange Box, but if it was for 360/PS3, it would definitely be CoD4.

orange box got the best value in both sp and mp, while cod 4 only shine inmultiplayer, since the sp campaign is horribly short ( took me 3h30 to complete on normal difficulty, less than hl 2 episode 1)

Don't be so harsh on CoD4's single player... it's probably the best in a game this year... Although I played it on Veteran on my first play through and it took me more like 10-12 hours.

I know I'll be asking for COD4 for Christmas. I heard the single player is short, but still fun. The real reason I want it is for the multi-player. I hear some of the unlocks are really cool...

screw the orange box. if your into mp then cod4 is the way to go (btw sp is short but nonetheless its the most amazing short sp ever). it has over 9000 servers (pc) and not even a onth out. its definetly played better on pc.

Try to get both please! They both deserve it.

Orange Box: Well for SP you got HL2 with EP1 and EP2 and with a bit of Portal on the side. MP is TF2 (personally I don't like TF2 nor was I greatly impressed by EP1 and EP2. That said I was a fan of HL2 and Portal.

Call of Duty 4: SP as long as you do it on Hardened or Veteran, you have a good 8 hour+ amazing challenging fun expirence. Best SP I've played for a while. MP is also very strong, Great balance, maps, game types. Progression System and Unlocks to keep it intresting for a long time. MP is alot like a CQB version of BF2, in other words very fun :D

Overall: Get BOTH, However after having both I believe that Call of Duty 4 Is a better package.

I have both and it depends on what you're looking for...

TF2 is cool Portal is cool

I find myself going back to CoD4's multiplayer everytime. It's just so fun and refreshing.

I already played HL2 and ep1.

COD4!!!

The Orange Box hands down. You absolutely have to play Team Fortress 2, it is so freakin fun. Quite a bit more fun than CoD4. And as for single player? It's a complete no-brainer.

OB all the way in my mind, but I could see how people chose CoD4, it looks pretty good. I'll probably end up picking it up eventually.

Call of Duty 4...............No doubt. If you had to choose between numerous orange boxes and that is it..........or an amazingly detailed and enormous variety of maps with great game play, etc. the answer is obvious. CoD 4. Trust me.

Orange Box have HL2+Ep. 1 & 2+Team Fortress 2+Portal - basically it's great deal for your money, but CoD 4 itself is awesome - i would go with CoD 4 - maybe will last you not longer than the Orange Box but still awesome game

I'm going to pick both of these up this xmas most likely. Orange Box sounds like awesome deal, COD4 is great, I played demo and loved it.

Hahahaha....

okay, I'd go with the Orange Box, mainly because it's more unique than COD4. Plus the mods are freakin' awesome, Garry's mod is my fave. COD4 has terrific multiplayer...but for some reason it made we want to play Battlefield 2...not sure why.
