there are two 1000 watt psus that i really like. the first one is the coolermaster psu that comes with the stacker case. and which is a pretty good deal for what u get there. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119136

and the 2nd psu is the enermax 1000 watt psu. this looks like a really really nice psu. very high efficient! but more money. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194019

so should i just get the better deal with coolermaster? or should i go for the better psu in the enermax?

If you plan on buying the stacker with it I would say buy the Coolermaster. If you don't plan on buying the stacker again I say buy the Coolermaster. You really can't go wrong with the Coolermaster brand.

...that still doesn't warrant a 1000w PSU.

I would go for a PC Power and Cooling 750 Quad Silencer, if I were you. But if you insist, go for the ULTRA X3 800-1000w models. But seriously, 1000w is overkill.

You can run all those on a good 450 watt PSU, but I would aim at least a 500 watt or 600 one if you want add more stuff later on.

A good 600 watt is more than enough for your 2 8800's and 2 harddrives. you can run 4 harddrives with a good 600 watt psu with all the extras.

Why waste your money? Your system isn't going to consume anywhere near 1kW, even under full load.. hell I doubt you'll even hit 600-700W usage.

I'd suggest the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W.

PC power and cooling are great units, but too expensive. Go look for a decent 600w Silverstone PSU, and you will be more then fine.

I agree, you will not even peak close to 1KW. You are fine with a 600w PSU (let it be, that the PSU must be efficient, and not some no name PSU).
