Where can you order software from in Canada? Amazon.com and Newegg.com don't ship to Canada. Windows XP Professional costs $286.00 in the U.S. but sells for $499.00 in Canada. The Canadian dollar is on par with the American dollar right now. How can there be a $213.00 price difference?

We get ripped off. I've never tried it but I've been told tigerdirect.ca is good, don't know if they sell software though...

Best Online Retailer for computer stuff in Canada.

and dont buy a Retial copy of an OS man. Buy the OEM. you can get the XP Home SP2 OEM for like109 bucks.

You dont need Pro. its "Advanced" Featres are nothing a Home PC will use.

Thanks for the advice we appreciate it. We found it for $280.00 and that include $30.00 shipping. The price difference for Canadians is insane. Who wants to spend half a grand for an operating system when you can buy the same piece of software an hour a way across the border for half the price?

Hey, we all know that feeling. Now that the dollar is on-par retailers do need to rethink their strategy. we are officially paying 20 dollars more than the US for games, 10 dollars more for Movies, and like 6-7 bucks more for CD's.

Its mass media like this thats goona need to change fast because people WILL start driving for an hour across the border to buy everything like this.

I can order games online right now from the US and by this time next year ill probably save about 300 bucks

Directcanada.com has very good prices. NCIX can be very good on some deals (subscribe to their emails, you can actually get good deals this way).

Tigerdirect, for the most part, is VERY EXPENSIVE.

Speaking of US vs CAN prices, Canada's dollar went to 1 US dollar today!

Best sites in Canada are

http://www.ncix.com/ is good, cause they price match any advertised Canadian price... Their weekly advertised deals are great and since they are in BC, there is no PST to other provinces like Ontario - so I usually save more in tax than I pay in shipping. You can probably go in to get your parts and save the shipping.

http://www.directcanada.com/ is also good (most prices slightly better than NCIX)and has free shipping on orders over $300 (also in BC)

I also usehttp://www.anitec.ca/(also in BC), and for local pickup (for me near Toronto) http://www.canadacomputers.com/, http://www.pcvonline.com/ and sometimes http://www.tigerdirect.ca/ (usually high prices before rebates) for parts... all can be price matched at NCIX.

We need a newegg canada online retailer. We pay so much more for electronics, it's crazy. We pay a lot more taxes as well and all we get is free health care and hospitals with not enough doctors and nurses.
