What msi gaming laptop is better?

Hi all,

I'm going to buy a gaming laptop and have narrowed down to two MSI ones.

I just really want to know which one will play the games at the highest and smoothest rate.

Also its been a long time since I have bought a pc, so I really want to know that if it has the same Manufacturer ID does it have the same specs. Just because I have found a few laptop variations with lower prices on SaveOnLaptop .

The GE70 will without a doubt give you better performance, but it still won't be great in modern/current gen titles. If you must get a gaming laptop and given your price range looks to be about £1100 I'd look at getting something like

It is pretty similar except the GPU is slightly better, it'll give you better performance in modern games. Plus it looks to be slightly cheaper as well.

I've used several asus machines and they seem to be very reliable. Although I'd still recommend building your own desktop system for gaming. For that price you could build a desktop with really impressive specs.

Lenovo ideapad Take a look at the lenovo's I hear good thing on their 900-1100 dollar laptops.

That's not a bad idea either. Good looking specs, plus you get the perks of a touch screen just for kicks. The price point is also good.

No the one you've originally linked is better then the one you just linked. I'm not sure but I'd say the one you linked first and the lenovo I liked are rather close to each other the first being better on battery with the 800 series card and only 1 rather then two gpu's. Honestly if you want real help go to tomshardware.com set up an account and make an intelligently written post(they don't tend to respond to small unthought out posts) and they will give you far better help then anyone on here will including me. They know their shit over there, and just searching their forums might bring forth the laptop you want as their forums are packed full of people asking questions and others answering them/.

idk, if you get past the bullshit posts, people here can often times be extremely helpful.

TC: if you are looking at the Lenovo laptops, be sure to get the one with the GT755M"SLI". That means it has 2 GPU's working together as one. If you get the single gpu lenovo like the one you posted you'd be better off getting the MSI or ASUS laptops with the 800 series Nvidia GPU's. It's really difficult to find good laptop deals in the UK from what I'm seeing. In the U.S. the lenovo would be your cheapest and potentially most powerful option, although it looks to be more expensive in the U.K.

Yeah it can be very hard finding a good deal in the uk on laptops. With my budget I can get a sli one. For example

Personally I'd never want that lenovo. You get all the issues of dual GPUs and since it has two mid range (at best) cards you won't even get great performance. On top of that you'll have next to no battery life, lots of weight and I wouldn't be surprised if it overheated (or at least gets very hot and loud).

Remember if you are looking for a gaming laptop you have to cut your loses somewhere. There are very limited options when it comes to good solid gaming laptops within his budget. He'll have issues regardless of which laptop he chooses. He just has to decide which issues are worth dealing with and which aren't. All gaming laptops are overly heavy so he obviously isn't worried about size or weight. And overheating can be easily corrected with a cooling pad. The Lenovo is a decent computer, but does he sacrifice battery life and occasional SLI problems for better in game performance, or does he get the single gpu system (MSI or Asus) and have less performance in game but better battery life and no problems with SLI. That would all be for him to decide.

I just changed my mind don't go with the duel GPU setup in the Lenovo. Turns out the 860m is on par with it so no point in taking the hit on battery,and having to deal with duel GPU's. My proof link. Go with the MSI or any equivalent. Sorry for stearing you wrong in the first place don't even consider the lenovo unless you can find one with an 860m or better for the same price.

Plays titan fall pretty well on ultra.

If I could I would be building my own rig with the money, but will be moving around a bit so cant build a base computer. Sucks

@waterboy1999: Even better choice then your original. It's got the 870m which is not a bad laptop card at all. Should be a nice machine.

Yea, that's a fine choice. The slightly better processor and the 870m should be perfectly fine for gaming. Some games may require you to lower the detail a bit but that's a small compromise to make. Hope you enjoy it.
