I am going to build myself a new PC in 2008.

I want an intel CPU only!

I already know about the core 2 duo and the core 2 quadro.

What i was wondering is if there are any new CPU's that intel are working on.

Thanks for any help

Well, Intel is coming out with its 45nm CPU cores (smaller, faster, cooler, etc...) with some additional performance improvements...  And of course, prices will continue to fall...

Bit more than that...

Intel wll be bringing the successor the Core 2 microarchitecture with a new architecture called Nehalem. Nehalem will feature a new serial interface with the system (called Intel's Common System Interface or CSI), it will include an on die memory controller, a possible integrated GPU core (only for servers for floating point performance) on the CPU die and up to 8 cores with HyperThreading '2' enabled (16 threads per CPU)!

This will of course follow Intel's 'Penryn' which is a low power, die shrink wither high clock speeds of the current Core 2 line (Conroe/Allendale/Kentsfield).

Nehalem will probably be out at around mid-late 2008, but you may want to wait for BIOS and motherboards to become stable with the new architecture.
