What games should I get for my new PC?

I'm gonna be getting a new Vista computer, and i'm new to all this pc gaming, so i'd like some suggestions for games that would work well with my computer.

A couple that i'm getting are Half-Life 2 and Oblivion, and this is my computer:

20" monitor

AMD Athlon(TM) 64 X2 5200+ dual-core - 2.6GHz

2GB DDR2-667MHz dual channel SDRAM (2x1024)

EVGA GeForce 7600GT (OC)

so i'm just looking for some suggestions.

They were supposed to come out a month ago, and the official forums state that it could come at anyday. For now, there are various tweaks to get the game running perfectly over at tweakguides.com. I know you shouldn't have to do any tweaking to a brand new game, but STALKER is an exception, as it's a truly amazing game.  

Medieval 2 is really good, half-lifes are old but really good, Flight Simulator X isnt bad either

Rts's and simulations as well as shooters are good, but yeah so Nice computer.
