There is a guy on steam with 3570k and 780 (high settings) and he has dips into 30's especially while driving, but also while walking around the city. While a guy with 3770k and 760 can keep steady 60 on high settings. Glad I went with the 4770k.

Well since new consoles and some PC's can use 8 threads, I think that most of the games that will come out, will supporting 8threads anyway...
True, I think it will be the same with Shadow of Mordor. Since it also recommends 3770.
Glad I went with the 3770k. Games are only going to get better at doing this as developers fine tune their engines.

This is good news since I got 4770K too :P.

Well actually they need to tune their engines for the consoles so, since their games are already targeted to be 8-threaded optimised, why to change it?
It's a win-win for them and for us.

I don't think this is just due to the 4 core cpu. Ubisoft has had a history of releasing unoptimized games on pc. Requiring a 9000+ mark score cpu for ultra regardless of the gpu is pretty pathetic.

I dont know if you can link it. But it's on steam watch dogs discussion, topic "Playing right now"

I have yet to find a game my 4670k couldnt handle easily, watch dogs is looking to be the first one and its honestly not surprising since it's a ubisoft game. I highly doubt it's because 4 cores isnt enough these days.

Well explain to me 3770k+760 steady 60 fps on high, 3570k+780 dips to 30s on high settings. And take a look at the graphs I posted, all threads are used.

Surely then he's got a hacked/pirate copy. Posting on the steam forums doesn't seems the most intelligent thing to do....

This guy has physical copy and apparently he got it early. But yeah, there are pirates out there....
Interesting how the game says 3GB VRAM required for Ultra textures. To be honest I'm taking most of this with a grain of salt and i'll wait for proper benchmarks.
Guyz, 4670K is more powerful than a lot 8-threaded CPUs and especially the jaguar based console CPUs, since it has far superior IPS and some times more Ghz.
If HT is fully optimised for gaming like it is for video editing/rendering etc, you would see a 20-30% more performance on a 4cwith HT than a 4c.
The game is not out there yet so this might be a bug or an unoptimised scenario same thing that happened to BF4 with the FX63xx where it had half performance of FX43xx...
So we need to wait :)
Wow im in trouble. I only have i5 4670 and 780 ti. Maybe i should have dropped the 1 tb ssd and gone for a 500 gb ssd 1tb harddrive and i7 4770. Looks like i will have a lot of problems with next gen games :(
It looks very inconsistent, a lot of places don't actually look much better than GTA4...
The fact that game isnt out and that its totally based some random screenshot that shows very inconsistent usage of whatever, Ill just wait on some real reviews. And to point out that i5's and i7's total processing abilities are nearly the same. so I highly doubt a i5 will perform half as good as an i7.

Ok, but I should check steam there are guys with screenshots and everything.
I don't like to baby sit people so here are just some screen, go check them yourself on watch dogs discussion.

Easy, poor optimization. I'm aware that all 8 threads are used, but there is a difference between utilizing threads and poorly optimizing the game to where it will only run decently on those number of threads.

Yep, Look at the screen shot at least three of the threads have inconsistent usage and spike wildly

Depends what situation the game is on I guess. As the guy with 3570k said it's mainly during driving and walking around the city. I guess the wind also eats a lot of CPU, along with the wind effects like wind blowing soda cans on the streets etc. Sorry my english sucks, at least im trying to explain lol. Not to mention the standards of open world, like a lot off people on the street. Apparently watch dogs isnt as dead as gta 5.
Its a UBI game their cpu coding is hit or miss and is there going to be day one patch to fix issues. Either couple things are happens, poor cpu usage along all cores, the amount of effects they threw in because they could. There can be a single option that needs to be turned off or down to fix the issue. Fact is that an i5 should not see half the fps then a i7, its a coding issue not just because the game uses 8 threads.

Crysis 3 was already one of those game that gave about 15 fps boost with HT on. And It didn't even utilize it fully. HT can give 30% boost depending on the situation.

And that's happening with almost all bad ports?
I've been telling people for over a year to go for the i7 over the i5 because of this very situation. I was right!
Dammit

Brb fishtailing in a 6 speed to microcenter.
And this statement got to do anything with cores usage?
People happen to play the game and monitor while doing so... so I would say... yes?

How does it got anything to do with the fact that it may occur on any bad port? it's a well known fact that when it comes to bad port more horsepower is better.
Also there's no actual proof that it was taken during Watch Dogs gameplay, it may be some heavy duty program.
For the first time, I read that having a game optimised to more threads is bad optimisation.
This issue here with the 4670K and the 780 was solved by updating the latest nvidia drivers.
Also you may expect some bugs at the begining like Battlefield 4's CPU issue in the begining.
i'd wait for real benchmarks instead of random rumours by random people. I bet a 4 core or 4 thread cpu can play this game easy. A 4 thread cpu thats clocked 3.5ghz-4.5ghz is gonna smoke this game compared to a console which are running around 1.6-2ghz.

Yea it doesn't look like the E3 videos
