Was anyone else let down by Empire Total War Demo?

I don't know. First the game only plays on medium on my 9600GT (and I'm not complaining about it), but it's ugly on medium. It looks like the game was only made to be played on high. Then the combat lets me down (the land that is). I've played the Napoleonic Total War Mod for Rome, and maybe I was just expecting better, but it felt like the Total Wars before.

I'm not definitely sure yet. I've only played land battles, and that too, for 1/2 and hour, but it makes me feel less excited about buying it.

What are your thoughts?

a 9600GT only plays Med?? Wow my 8600GT Plays Med.. Fine.. But getting a ATI 4850 hopefully this weekend and then ill play on Ultra or at least High.. and anwyay its just 2 small battles the Main Game will be ALOT better and AWESOME!Shadowhawk000

I heard on some people's computers the demo just ran amazingly, with others it ran like crap (like mine). I hope this is because of the rumor of the old code.

I'm not holding my breath though.

After giving another chance, I felt that old rush of Gettysburg, and like it quite a lot now.
