Don't be so cynical, and you are seriously trying to tell us you have every single pc game ever made from 1997 to 2008? Right... For a start your HDD would have to be insane and secondly I know for a fact a few games that won't run with vista. So stop the BSing. Kai?

Tell me about it, the statement is SO ridicules he surely couldn't have expected anyone to beleive him.

Surely he has a program that forces games to work?

Ah ofc, must be that magic ray gun I saw him saying about the other day. One zap and all your vista worries will disapear...
Good, this s one of the first praise Vista thread iv'e seen on this forum..
I totaly agree, Im using Vista ultimate 32bit and havn't had any trubble at all. (since oct -07)
XP was fine also but it was a whole lot more unstable before SP2 came.
As Vista is using ram in a diffrent way it uses a lot of memory but that amount are released (well not all of the mem but a bit from it) when playing games.
(Vista is loading things you use often in ram so when you nead that app/prog/or whatever it don't need to read the HDD's as much.)
This makes Vista quite fast also, and user friendly, there is a whole bunch of "eyecandy" but for those who dont like that can ofc. turn that off.
Hehe, I remember windows 3.11 and D00M on floppy 1.44 disks, things have evolved.
glad you are having a good experiance with it. But untill I see any advantages that vista has over XP i will be sticking with XProb1101DX10 is nice, more stable, it even seems like the Internet runs faster?? Looks great overall. XP gets tiring to look at as well. :)
I don't understand why a gamer would want to get Vista over Xp. XP runs better and uses less ram plus there's already a DX10 patch out for XP.zaku101
Its not true DX10!

It's only in the beta stage and it's already so close to the perfect clone already running just about all the DX10 games. When that's done there would be no reason at all to own Vista unless you like the extra pop ups and slighty slower performance and ram hugging.

Just one question. Let's just assume for a second that that XP DX10 patch thing is gonna work. Where are you gonna get your DX10 XP drivers from?

Around 6 months ago I went from XP-64 to Vista64, then down to XP-Pro32, And discovered out of these, Vista was just a much more stable OS.
My grandpa bought a PC with Vista 32-bit for his mother, and he liked it after playing around with it for a little while. I think it looks great. As for the RAM, Let's start comparing XP to windows 98. I think you really get something for the extra resource usage. If building a new PC, it is not like the requirements are expensive to meet anyway.
I still don't like the idea that it reports all sorts of stuff like installed apps, visited web sites, watched videos, etc,, to some place. It would help against pirating, but it just crosses the line of privacy.
