is it worth paying a £120 ($200) more for more cache i want to get one of these cpus

What do you have now? I mean, I wouldn't get one of those high end A64 X2s. If you want low end dual core (3800+ or 3600+) I would suggest an X2, or an A64 or even Sempron if you want single core, otherwise Core2 is the best $ for performance wise.

What do you have now? I mean, I wouldn't get one of those high end A64 X2s. If you want low end dual core (3800+ or 3600+) I would suggest an X2, or an A64 or even Sempron if you want single core, otherwise Core2 is the best $ for performance wise.TheLiberal

Do you see anywhere in his post where he says "I have an AM2 motherboard already"?  Because I don't.  Here, I'll even quote his original post:

No it's not worth the extra pounds for the extra cache. The performance is not very noticeable when gaming.

isnt the 5600x2 @ 2.8ghz & 6000x2 @ 3.0ghz? i say go with the 6000x2 if ur gonna oc or not its one hell of a cpu

ok smart ass, even if it's not a am2, you can't pop in a core 2 duo in a amd board
oh and btw, look in the links it's all am2 cpu's he's looking for..
