So it turns out i can get the sims 2 dvd version for 20 bucks or the cd version for 30. Now, my family is telling me it might not be so good on the DVD. I can't understand where they're coming from. Anyways, my PC can play dvd's so is there any reason i couldn't play the dvd version? Also, is there anything different between dvd and cd versions except amount of disks? Thanks.

Unless they've changed it since release, the DVD version comes with an extra disc with interviews and trailers and stuff. It's also far easier to install since you don't have to keep swapping discs around.

I paid more for the DVD version when the game originally came out mostly for that reason. I hate swapping discs during installations.

I can't really think of a reason not to get it, especially if it's cheaper.

Grab it on the DVD; it doesn't really make a difference.

the game is that much more enjoyable when you get nightlife (cars and downtown area), university (new age level, university, university degrees, secret societies, etc) and the home buisness one (forgot the name), which allows for cool things like elevators and so forth . . .

Now you will want to start getting the EPs.  It’s best to install them in order.  The order is Sims 2 – University – Nightlife – Open for Business – Pets.  And you can install the 2 stuff packs at any point, they are – Glamour Life Stuff and Family Fun Stuff, there is also a small Christmas pack that is actually kind of cool.

Also if you really get into the Sims 2 I highly recommend you visit this site - http://thesimsresource.com/intro/

They have tons of FREE downloads including Beacon Falls which is an entire set of neighborhoods, houses, shops, and sim families put together by the people at that board for any that wants it FREE.  Beacon Falls is way better than the 3 neighborhoods that come with the game by default!

Can’t wait for Seasons, finally it will rain and snow!
