People interested in the possible first ever PC Tekken game?

http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Tekken-7-Coming-PC-With-Return-Jun-Kazama-66416.html

Last Tekken i played was Tekken 4 and i loved it. Imo it would be very good move to introduce Tekken on PC. Perhaps then eventually they could make some "tekken pack" for PC which brings all previous tekkens in steam for like a price of 60-100€?

I'm looking forward to it for sure. There is no telling when it will be released though :/ You can add TotteryManx on Steam when it does though. I'd be down to play.

I wouldn't mind playing Tekken on PC. Last one I played was Tekken Tag.

Tekken sucks, I don't care. It's such a lame fighting game.

With all the fighters coming to PC I'm only needing Tekken and Soul Calibur...

I think the chance of both those series coming to PC is good as Bamco seems to be quite happy/open with the PC platform as of late. There's also been rumblings of the Tales games makingan appearance. Honestly, I think it's only a matter of time.

@Articuno76: Let's hope you're right. I spent a lot of time on arcades with the original Tekken and DOA so every time a new entry of either reaches the consoles I always think "Is it this time that I'll get it on PC?" Thankfully DOA came out and I've been having a blast with it but Tekken has always been my favourite.

I hope so, I've completely abandoned consoles and Tekken is part of the top 3 of fighting games for me, up there with Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur.

^lol, words of someone who constantly gets their buttocks whopped in that game

Or didn't know some of the special moves, like how to use the sword on Yoshimitshu :P

Tekken has also for me always been The game, when it comes to fighting games.

Korvus, did you just say that DOA is on PC :O That series was also nice.

On a related note, Saint Seiya: Soldier's Soul is coming to the PC. An anime fighter, sure, but it's still yet another fighting game, and a Bamco one at that. To quote the press release:

With a massive roster of characters, a reworked fighting system based on fans’ feedback and much more action than before, Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul will be the new fan favourite! Speaking of favourites… the infamous Gold Saints are back and some are even donning their ultimate outfit The God Cloth! Aquarius’ Camus, Pisces’ Aphrodite, Aries’ Shion, Capricorn’s Shura, Sagittarius’ Aiolos, Libra’s Dohko, Virgo’s Shaka, Gemini’s saint, Taurus’ Aldebaran, Leo’s Aiolia, Aries’ Mu (God Cloth),Scorpio’s Miro (God Cloth) and Cancer’s Deathmask (God Cloth) are all going to be joining the fight!

DIMPS and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment value feedback from fans and are always listening. Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul will add many new features, including the below:

· Players will see a new “Cosmic KO” performed when finishing the fight with a special attack!

· Enhanced and reworked Big Bang Attacks: more powerful, more colorful and perfectly capturing the original series’ essence! Moreover, fans will be able to choose amid different Big Bang Attacks!

SAINT SEIYA fans will be able to awaken their 7th sense with Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul for PlayStation®4, PlayStation®3 and PC in Autumn 2015!

@korvus: I miss Soul Calibur, Soul Calibur 3 was really the last good soul calibur game, the only redeeming factor for sc4 was that it had online, sc5 was a lazy mess and games that followed were just pure disrespect for the series, if they ever bring back SC then I hope they bring back all the things that made it great in the first place, and also the abundant amount of missing/slashed off characters.

@Dark_sageX: Unfortunately, more and more "hardcore gamers" are asking for smaller rosters, which I can't understand...

I can imagine a few good reasons why. Larger rosters usually are more unbalanced and have less unique characters.

@KHAndAnime: I can understand the balancing but the uniqueness? Sure, you can have 10 unique chars or 30 chars where the extra 20 and mostly variations from the unique 10 but it's still better than not having them at all, in my opinion.

I guess it's possible to do both, it's just not easy. Usually dividing the effort among creating so many characters is detrimental to the quality of these characters. But if they were quality characters that were balanced and added in appropriately, like how SF4's expanded over time, it can work. Otherwise the characters feel less significant.

@KHAndAnime: I guess it also depends on the fighters...some fighters only slightly touch the characters' movesets once every 4 or 5 iterations of the series...in those cases I think that since you aren't going to get better characters might as well get more of them. Now if you ask me whether I'd prefer new chars or a refinement of existing ones I'd rather have the latter.

@KHAndAnime: another good reason and a very likely one is that they were to lazy to add the other rosters.

Having a lot of similar characters doesn't add much variety, but does blow up the incubation/learning time needed to become competent. It's basically making a game harder to get into at a reaonably high level, but without the pay off of a strategically varied, rich game. When I see a game with a massive roster count my first impulse is to groan because I know that I'm going to have to spend several hundred hours simply learning the ropes before things get good.

@Articuno76: You aren't forced to master all characters, unless you're talking about going end game and learn all opponents rotations/move combinations and whatnot. Then again, if they are so similar it shouldn't be a problem, and if it is maybe they're not so similar.

@korvus: I'm not talking about mastering them, but knowing them each well enough that I can get into meta-game (i.e. actually playing the game: that is, a will of strategy against a thinking opponent rather than the immediate mechanical challenge). Until you reach that point you're just flailing around only sort of knowing what you're doing.

Similar characters are similar, but they aren't identical. That's worse than learning to fight against two entirely different characters because instead of organically picking up how each characer works you're having to constantly correct yourself for the exceptions. And when you have a huge list of clones those exceptions add up even though the characters aren't that unique. it's the sheer number of them that creates the challenge, not the actual variance they bring to the table.
