I have Hearts of Iron 2 Doomsday and I love the game. But I've played it several times and I'm beginning to get a little bored with it. Can anyone suggest a similar game. I have Europa Universalis 3, but found the gameplay confusing and inadequate compared to HoI. Is there any other game similar in gameplay to HoI and at least just as interesting?

There's also Victoria + Victoria: Revolutions. It's a "prequel" to Hearts of Iron because you can play from around 1850 til Hitler takes power in Germany (1933). But the game is more focused on economy than war. It's very complex compared to HoI but I think it's great.

Okay. I'll check it out. Is there anything else? I'd love something with good doses of both economic management and combat

That's all I know. I hope that Paradox already works on HoI III. I would like to see a game with more diplomacy and I hope that a new game will include the Cold War.

Man I love Hearts of Iron 2, I was just about to play it. Hearts of Iron 3 is announced and looks pretty good so far. I guess I would wait for that. But I love this game....

Hey, i have HoI the first one and i want to get the anthology, but i have two questions.

Does the second one have a better tutorial? :P

and how do you send supplies to another countrie's land to keep your own troops organization up? i was in Great Britain, but i couldnt send supplies there, so all my troops died out :(

I was the Soviet Union by the way :P had taken over most of europe... had to wage a war of attrition to the last minute until 1946 cause i couldnt figure out how to keep great britain though i owned most of it

Hearts of Iron 3 is being worked on... http://www.paradoxplaza.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=426&Itemid=129

Paradox also made Europa Universalis III, from roughly 1400s to 1800s, and Crusader Kings from 900s to 1300s?

something like that... Europa Universalis has the bext mixture of economy and warfare I think.

I have both EU3 and Crusader Kings. Both were confusing. Nowhere near HoI

Maybe Diplomacy

This is the link info about Hol 3...

http://www.paradoxplaza.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=426&Itemid=129

But I don't recommend you to wait for Hol 3, because it's scheduled for release in Q3, 2009...

Man, your Field Marshall already on his retirement age by that day release...

I suggest you to try Victoria Revolution, it's more-more-more complicated than Hol 2...
