I had been waiting for this one, one of 3 or 4 Steam deals I was looking for this year.

Question: Is the single-player alone worth the $15?

I tend to play more sp than mp (though i would likely play mp on this one), but I'm interested in knowing about the sp......heard its short. Good quality?

rofl it should be five bucks

15 is not a deal imo. That game is A.) fairly old, and B.) has a sequel

When a game has a sequel and everyone is doing it, that devalues the original incredibly

But to answer your question, yea, the singleplayer is worth it lol

The singleplayer was fun, but very short.

I completely agree. There's no reason why the game should cost as much as it does when it's a few years old and has a sequel. Though if you've never play CoD4 I'd say you should pick it up. You're probably not going to be disappointed.

Its old (relatively) but respected more than its sequel it seems. But i don't mind older games, I'm playing thru NoLF again and loving it.

Also, as pointed out in another thread this game does not seem to go on sale much for some reason (sales must have continued to be good).

I think the single player is garbage, the multiplayer is the best in the series though. I wouldnt buy it for the garbage 5 hour single player though.

The single player is good, but it gets old quickly. It's really short, and it feels more like a highlight reel of gameplay than a full blown campaign. Now that means that every single mission is quite intense and well designed, but it's not as satisfying as the original. The multiplayer is a lot of fun though. I think that Battlefield 2 is better, but it doesn't have as steep of a learning curve as Battlefield. I'd say that yes, 15 dollars is worth it. I hope that helps.

Alright just because its old does not mean its not good. The game is great, the single player is one of the greatest I have ever played even though its short, dont listen to the MW2 lovers.

Agreed, COD SP is awful, you might as well play duck hunt.

Still too hot for my blood, especially how old this game is and considering you can buy a boxed copy for same price(in the UK the sale is £9.99). I've waited long enough, I'm prepared to wait a little longer.

Well, it's still the most played multiplayer game on Xfire at least, and it's a very good multiplayer in my opinion. It's not worth 14,99 dollars anymore, more like 10 bucks, but Activision is greedy as hell...

If the steam sales are not to your liking why don't you go over to direct2drive there having a 5 week long springsale with new deals every week. I got arma II for $25,GTA IV for $7.50,Men of war for $2.50,The path for $5, and men of war red tide for $5

The single player is really short, I beat it in maybe 4 hours. It's pretty standard call of duty single player formula. Hasn't really changed much since call of duty 2 (tons of enemies, incredibly epic and simultaneously incredibly unrealistic, you can take 200 bullets and not die etc. Nothing to write home about. Them multiplayer is pretty good, with some mmo elements like leveling worked in there for the first time in a blockbuster game afaik. But it's old, people play it, but not many.

The SP is short but its a case of quality over quantity. It contains some of the most memorable levels in a FPS game. Personally, I think 4 controls the momentum of the action a lot more skillfully than MW2 does.
