UPDATE:

Original:

Great interview by Mr. Steve of Gamersnexus... FPS module launch is expected shortly after Gamescom but take everything as a grain of salt since anything can cause the module to be delayed further. But rest of the interview is pretty interesting and worth checking out.

In the OP, Chris Roberts discussed about how Crysis is only first-person, and that if you made it 3rd person you'd see the character is all stretched out and wonky. He couldn't be any further from the truth - Crysis in 3rd person looks pretty good. I don't really understand his explanation for why 3rd and 1st person has to be a unified system. His idea about implementation of intertia has me worried too. Sounds like this will be some sluggish FPS combat.

those expecting quake fps gameplay are going to be disappointed, sc fps will be more like arma or at very least stalker type shooter.

Star Citizen FPS is designed to encourage Stealth Gameplay. It'll play like a Sim, just like its Space Sim part.

Good interview. Can't wait to try these movement. I recall I already played a FPS with similar movement, Fear maybe?

FEAR controls same as other FPS games. But it feels more realistic because animations/AI are great and gunplay is top of the line. Star Citizen's animations are planned to be as good as third person games but in First Person view, without making it feel sluggish at the same time.

I think he is referring to something specific, I remember there was a Crysis 2 video floating around where someone hacked the camera to a 3rd person view without changing anything else, and when in cover there were some damn crazy animations going on.

when it was first shown it was compared to series like arma, swat, killzone, counter strike. Im Expecting a slow pace FPS like the original rainbowsix games with the same bullet damage like counter strike

Nice post, I haven't seen these. Thx! I'm going to be happy to see the multi-crew get properly implemented, should be fun.

Thanks, I guess Chris Roberts just wasn't feeling very specific that conversation :P
