Hello,

I've been having some issues with getting Skyrim to run on my computer. Here are my PC's specs:

MB: MSi 890FXA-GD70
Processor: AMD Phenom II 2.8 GHZ Six-Core
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws X
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560
730 Watt power supply

One of two things will happen whenever I try to start Skyrim: A) BSOD will pop up randomly and my computer will restart itself or B) I'll get stuck in the main Skyrim menu, unable to play the game. The latter has happened three times (twice since re-installation), and the former always happens when I play the game. I'll get to the main Skyrim menu ('Play,' 'Tech Support,' etc.) and click 'Play,' at which point Windows will ask "Would you like the following program to make the following changes to your computer?" I select 'Yes' and then the Steam load screen pops up, instantly disappears and returns me to the Skyrim menu. I've been trying to fix this for the last three weeks, and it's driving me nuts. After all...it's SKYRIM!

I know I meet the recommended requirements to run it, but I'm sure something's wrong with some aspect of my computer. I've already contacted Bethesda and I'm currently awaiting a response.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

A. what patch are you patched to?

B. Have you set your audio to below 96khz?

C. Have you any mods installed?

You're specs seem fine to run the game well.

Yes, he said he reinstalled already. His specs check out. Do you have any mods installed? Make sure you verify the game cache in the Steam settings. No offense, but is this a legit copy?

could be a driver issue, use the clean install option to install the latest nvidia driver (advanced setup). Any trouble with any other programs or games? a chkdsk might not be bad idea. There are seceral programs that can tell you what the blue screens said, using those you can pinpoint whats casuing the computer to crash.

Try updating your graphics card drivers.
