Hi

I'm wondering if my pc ( right now using Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit ) can be upgraded to windows 7 64 bit or windows 10 32 bit, i am using this pc only for gaming ( not HUGE games tho ) and some movies.

So i am not using this pc for some extra heavy stuff and running 100 tabs.

My pc specs:

CPU : AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ ( 2 cores )

RAM : 4GB 800 MHz

GPU : NVIDIA GeForce 210 1GB DDR3 version.

Thanks for making time for me.

what are you using it for? Just gaming? with a 210 and dual core?

As for windows, theres no reason not to go with 64 bit and the difference between 7 and 10 is personal preference really.

No more than 3.5GB of your ram will be used under a 32bits system, so 7/64bits is the way to go. W10 is bloated and needs lot of trimming' to reach W7 level performance.

Not true. Windows 7 and 10 take up the same amount of resources.

For that PC you might as well stay where you are and save the hassle for reinstalling everything.

When you upgrade to a new PC then go Win10 64bit.

Upgrading to either of those isn't going to do anything performance wise.

All you can do is stay where you are and when you save up enough money buy a completely new PC.

Yes, don't change anything. Save up for a new PC and 64 bit is a must going forward...

64b would allow the use of applications that are 64b only, sure 64b systems require a bit more space for 64b libraries, pointers are bigger in size, but these are pretty neligible

@fabian213: The only reason you would upgrade to a 64 bit os is if you were going upgrade your ram.

You could probably buy a used gpu you will see a decent increase in performance in gaming. just make sure it's compatible! and you don't fall for a chinese scam.

Also you could buy a used dell, hp etc (brand doesn't matter) with a i5, 8gb of ram. than buy a gpu and ssd separately, just make sure the power supply can handle the gpu or just replace the power supply. This could allow you to play modern games depending on the gpu you buy.

I'm confused, why are your only options 7 64-bit or 10 32-bit? Why not 10 64-bit?

Like 4 people have told you already to stay where you are because there is no point changing. You need a new PC.

How many more times are you going to ask the same question?

Also support for Win7 ends 2020 (extended).

Not true. Windows 7 and 10 take up the same amount of resources.

The problem with Windows 10 are the 200 background processes that run on startup and the mandatory updates.

@UssjTrunks:

Took me awhile to get rid of all of this shit and that's the exact reason why i said that W10 is a waste of resources!!!

You got to be good at that because most of these things are deeply hidden, Luckily these are many tutos outta there of how to do it.

Most startup processes you can disable. Win10 has a startup utility that's easy to use.

Updated can also be disabled or delayed now.
