I want to get a 46 inch 1080p LCD Toshiba Regza because I've heard they have the best price point and are basically very good.

There is a 120Hz version (the "Toshiba Regza 46 inch 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV, model #46LX177") for $2,300 AND there is the 65Hz version (the "Toshiba Regza 46 inch 1080p Widescreen LCD HDTV, model #46RF350U") for $1,900.

I don't think I want to spend $400 more just for the 120Hz version compared to the 65Hz version.

Does anyone know if there is a big difference between these two TVs other than the Hz?Generally, which one should I get?

Wow, for that much you can have a 50'' Panasonic plasma :P I would opt for 65hz.

I am a big fan of the 120hz with motion blur technology. Frys has a Samsung 120hz 1080P tv with Bluray player and Pirates 3 going, it looks amazing!

Its only $400, but only you can make the decision, what do YOU like.

You game on a 50'' Panasonic plasma? How is it? Do you worry about burn in if you play a game for more then a few hours?

The biggest advantage of 120 Hz is being able to properly display 24fps movies without resortingto 2:3 pulldown and the associated judder. If this is important to you, go for the 120Hz.

Nope, i pretty much came to the conclusion that burn-in is a non issue after hanging out at avsforum, i didn't crank up the picture setting for the first few weeks then i said ta hell with it. Games, movies, everything looks sweet. Only when i have SD content that doesn't fill the whole screen i notice the the square when i turn it off but it hasn't burned in. I love the blacks compared to my last TV, great set. ^ I thought that was 1080p/24 :? nothing to do with 120hz, but whatever my next HDTV will be a rear projection.

People are truly misinformed when it comes to burn in. There is a thing called image retention, and it happens quite often on Plasma displays, but it only lasts for a second. Burn in never occurs anymore. The picture quality and smoothness of Plasma puts it way ahead of LCD IMO. Don't worry about burn-in whatsoever. Don't even worry about holding back the brightness in the first 100 hours or whatever.... and certainly don't worry about image retention. It will be gone by the time you change the channel.

I have been the owner of Panosonic Plasma ( the no glare model) for 6 months and can offer this as fact.

That's awesome. Panosonic 50 inch Plasma's are actually one of the style TV's I'm looking into. What model do you have?

Ok I would pay the xtra 400 and get the 120hz. I just bought me a Sony 52" XBR4 yesterday and can honestly say motion blur technology is really cool.. just set it to standard not high. The thing with 120hz being better for 1080p/24fps has something to do with the whole 120/24 =5 vs 60/24 = 2.5 or something like that. I'm not completely sure, I just remember rreading something about it a while back.

Hey man. I'm interested in getting a 120hz hdtv too but I'll need you to confirm something: Do games run smoother with the 120hz turned on?
