Yeah I don't think Halo 2 for PC ever picked up anyway, I doubt there would be many people playing it today. Wasn't the multiplayer for the original Halo a free download? I remember a friend of mine had it but I'm not sure what it was. If it is around still you could always try that and they are practically the same game.
Halo 2 had terrible player counts when it was first released. It was MS's fault because they made it exclusive to Vista probably thinking it would sell the OS. It ended up crippling the community.

Just signed in. There are 25 servers up, around 80 people it right now, and 24 games being played actively. It isn't dead. It is pretty active for a GfWL game. You won't have trouble getting into a game. I never do when I have the odd mood for Halo 2.

the default fov is like the lowest thing i've ever seen for a pc game. It's like fov 70.
Yeah its horrible for halo 1&2 on pc and the retard at gearbox where actually defending locking it at such a low fov over using something more reasonable like 90 fov or better yet a variable fov like most games with good widescreen support have.
That's dead to me. More then enough to enjoy the game given halo max player count I wish shattered horizon still had those numbers that's a truly dead game that no one plays any more. And the **** at rovio bought there game studio out and there new space combat game there where working on for pc was canceled all cause they happen to be close geographically to rovio headquarters in finland :(.
The campaign is fun, especially on co-op, though I played it on Xbox originally so I don't know how well it transfers to PC. At the very least, the online community is still alive on PC, or more alive then on Xbox where it was shut down.
