Hi guys, please I'm in urge need of scary games, doesn't matter genre or even if the games is average (6 or even 5). But I need some scary games. Played:

Doom 3, Bioshock, Thief 3, System Shock 2, F.E.A.R, etc. and none of them made it for me. But the Suffering managed to scare me a bit. Please, I need horror, or anything, doesn't matter if it could traumatize me for life :P, but I want something scary, horryfing. You know ;).

I might try Condemned, it's about serial killers and stuff:P, isn't it? But I heard Call of Cthulhu had mediocre shooting and other problems. Would you recommend it?

Well, the beginning isn't scary but as you come towards the middle and the end of the game it's pretty scary. And of course you have to actually play it to feel it.And if you have a widescreen TV the picture is not cut off so it's not as scary as with a normal TV.

Give the Obscure games and Penumbra Overture/Black Plague a go. Then there's the clive barker games, Undying and (to a lesser extent) Jericho. There's a lot of crap that you could resort to as well, such as the Blair Witch games, or the Evil dead ones.

Id recommend Silent Hill 2 if you can get it, doesnt so much rely on cheap surprises or teleporting monsters but builds up suspense, has a disturbing atmosphere and all round good story.

re4 is pretty scary. the mutant guy in the boiler room was freaky, but the scariest part was the chainsaw sisters, they got paper bags over their heads with tape wrapped around where the eyes are supposed to be and blood stains. *shudder*

I don't know if this helps but..

I remember when I was young I bought resident evil 1 for my playstation. And when you go through the L shaped corridor with the windows and 2 dogs break in the room I was so freaking scared that I returned the game (eventually I got myself togheter and I bought it again :P)

Well back into PC gaming.. I could tell you to try Silent hill 1 which is great and the radio telling you there are enemies and the alternate reality is really scary (the hospital is great), but it probably won't scare you.

If you really want to be scared take my advise. Play the game around midnight, with no lights on, turn the volume up and if possible sit next to a window. That's how I played Silent hill.

Try the Silent Hill series, Penumbra: Episode 1: Overture, Penumbra: Episode 2: Black Plague, and the previously mantioned Condemned.dark_being

Ah yes, I came acros Penumbra: Black Plague yesterday when I was searching for a scary game, and it suited my want very well. After completing the Black Plague demo, I sat there saying to myself... "omg, I've never played a game quite like this before." The physics were more realistic than Half Life 2's because the physics engine technology is more advanced, and the game world combined with the physics was one of the most realistic horror game experiences I've ever had in a first-person game.

The way you open doors and drawers with holding your mouse button in and pulling side ways or back or forth to open a drawer, cupboard door or door was just amazing I thought. The atmosphere was great too, especially when you turn on motion blur for realism.

Penumbra: Overture and its sequel Black Plague are tailor-made for the Wii-mote I think, and they'd suit the hardcore console gamer too who want a game with genuine horror, which I don't believe the Wii has yet.
