Sales on Steam random or is there logic behind them?

I have wanting L4D2 for a while now and i think i missed a sale on it a couple of weeks ago. So my question is will be it be on sale again anytime soon or even the Valve package on sale OR is it totally random and they will do it anytime they feel like it? like how they did it with the rockstar package this week.

It was on sale last week. I bought it for 13.99.

Sales are usually random but they often coinside with the release of new DLC for a title. So if you know some DLC is coming up for a game youre interested in getting then wait until the DLC is released.

Well the passing just came out so i don't think there will be another DLC for a while. So i think i should just pony up and get it i guess

Yeah it was $20 a few weeks ago, I am sure it wont go on sale for at least 3 months.wooooode

So the average between a game going on sale again is 3 months because i got a lot of games sitting around and with the anger valve started with announcing L4D2, i expect them to not make another one for a while. But would the online community still be there in 3 months, because on one hand its probably the summer so more people have time to play but then again more games will be out by then

they sell you a key, which you activate in steam, also be careful and look for Left 4 Dead 2 uncut version, the cut version is cheaper but i dont think they wrote its cut. So infact Left 4 Dead 2 (cut version) and Left 4 Dead 2 Uncut (uncut version)
