rejected from beta... again!

one day i will be accepted into a beta test.... the only beta i've been in is Guild Wars, but that was so long ago. I guess the key to getting into betas is to be among the first to apply. Anyone else experiencing toruble getting into betas? If not, what is you SECRET!??!?

Be prepaired to go back to WoW, unless they do a complete revamp Warhammer is not looking good.

I've been in many betas and I attribute most of them to being mature on the application, having a good rig and of course previous experience does help. Beta testing free MMORPGs is a good way to get experience or you could...lie....Toriko42

I played several open beta's to get experience for the closed ones. I agree about having a lot of experience and a good rig though. THe bottom line is that not everyone can get in. Also if your really desparate you can pay for fileplanet since they get free beta keys all the time. I don't like paying for demo's personally so what I do is when keys are released exclusively to sites like fileplanet I go to the european sites since they are ussually free.

Maybe the game is just not for you..

iv been in a few beta's, lotro, WAR, tabula Rasa, frontlines(not sure if that was open or not...cant remember) hellgate london...i think thats it....o.O (oh yeah and archlord...but that game isnt something i readily admit to playing)

i heard one way to increase your chances was to say you're a girl, as they usually want to get a wide range of people, and lets face it, fewer girls are going to sign up...i am yet to try this :P so i dont know if this does actually help, also, as people have said, just be sensible in the applications, i had a friend who lied about all sorts of stuff in the app to make him look more "desirable"...but he went over the top cos hes an idiot....

I said boring...not buggy.

Even though I have tested some real buggy games...

But I find beta testing too mundane anymore...even the AAA games...

I've been in plenty of MMOG betas. I don't exactly know what I would attribute it to, since it's not like they tell you, "We selected you because of a, b, and c". Having the most powerful rig is no guarantee that you'll get in, because developers want their games to work on a variety of system configurations. As for prior experience, that can always be made up.

If you don't get accepted in the beginning, there's a good chance you'll be selected later, because they're going to want a ton of people to stress test their servers. But after having played MMOGs for over 8 years now, I've lost all interest in beta tests. I'd rather just play the retail version if it gets good reviews.

I usually don't like to get into beta's. Mainly for the fact that I am afraid it will ruin the fun when I get the retail game. I am excited about Age of Conan and I have herd a lot of great things about it. I just hope it lives up to the hype. But, side the fact out of all the MMO's coming out this year Age of Conan is the only one I am excited for. Warhammer Online is just like a WoW clone and the graphics, and game play are horrible. So I can only hope that Age of Conan will be awesome and be the MMO that I will be playing from years on.

We need a good MMO that is not World of Warcraft.
