I used Nero 8, but I'm tired of its huge size and it's always running some apps hidden in the background slowing my pc down (nero backitup, nero home...), so I'm looking for a new disc burning software, that has the capabilities of nero, but smaller and easy to use.... (does not have to be freeware...)

I like Alcohol 120%.

They have a free version, 52%, but you can't burn discs with it, only make and use images.

I've been using this for a while myself, as its a great, little program and free. It does all of the basics in the way of data burning, from creating ISO disc images from file and folder sets, to burning said images onto blanks. The only thing its really missing is Nero's music fuctions, such as burning mp3's into CD Audio format, but that can be done with Windows Media Player, in any case.

Nero 7 and 8 are real bloatware that's why I went back to using version 6.

Alcohol 120% is good, CDBurnerXP is pretty good and freeware.

Yup Nero 6 is one of the best. If you can find it get version 6.6.0.18

Imgburn is a great program as well, simple and easy to use.

SlySoft make some good progs, such as CloneCD

As other have said Alcohol 120% is good too and it has a virtual drive.

Primarily though, look into getting Nero 6 and Imgburn
