I am currently obtaining a old computer that has 800 Mhz Processor, 512mb Ram, and I think 32mb graphics. Do you have any ideas of games that will run on my secondary computer that are worth playing?

It really depends what genre tickles your fancy, but if I could recommend one, Planescape: Torment is a classic for a reason.

Let's not forget some old-generation classic shooters like Shogo: Mobile Armor Division and Alien vs. Predator 2! I miss Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate...*sigh* those were the good days :) I'm also a big fan of Red Alert 2 and it's various expansion packs (1 of them I think).

Quick question for you, Phazon-King:

What graphics card is in that PC? That will make a huge difference in which games this system can play.

EDIT: (Ex. 32MB Riva TNT vs. 32MB Voodoo [#] vs. 32MB Matrox vs. 32MB UniChrome IGP, etc.)

The guy that I am getting it from has no idea. But I am almost certain it is a 32mb card.

Well, I can say with certainty that anything from 1998 or earlier should run just fine, and games that feature mainly 2D graphics (Diablo 2, various RTSs) should run okay too. But once you start getting into any 3D games that are post-millennium, you may have some real difficulty, depending on what brand/model graphics chip is in there. The good news is that entry-level PCI and AGP graphics cards start at $30-40, and any one of those you buy today is going to be leaps and bounds better than whatever graphics chip is in there now. So if you have any trouble running games, the solution is very easy and won't cost you much at all.

I know that it won't run many 3d games, except maybe like quake. Will quake run and if so which will?
