Ive been trying to figure out whats the best Processor for me to get on my next build. i am currently on a budget but i would still like something that could atleast play BFBC2 and Crysis Engine-based games at a relatively good speed with my GTS 250. currently, I have been looking at this and i was wondering if this was an ok one to get.

If you don't already have the motherboard consider going AMD with this:

Do not get the i3's or i5's (except i5 750). Because they are a waste. You need to look into AMD. You can pick up an Athlon II X4 635 for $100 and you only need a $70 motherboard and use the same DDR3 as you would with the 1156's.

Phenom II 955 ($159.99) + AM2+ 2600MHz mobo ($52.98 ) + 4GB DDR2 ($84.99) is ~$21 more than your cpu ($114.99) + LGA 1156 mobo ($69.99)+ 4GB DDR3 ($91.99). If you count the $15 gift card that's only $6 more. I think its worth it.
