Before I move on from Metro Last Light... A mix of screenshots from laptop and desktop PC. One thing I love about the game is when it's supposed to be dark, it really is dark.

Man these screenshots are getting wrecked by this obnoxious compression.
Oh well. It's not liked Metro Last Light is maxed out on either of my PCs. ;)
FC2. Tried to like this game, but it gets boring after a while. It still looks sort of nice graphic-wise:
@jun_aka_pekto
what laptop do you have that can run it and how is the gameplay?
My laptop is a 2013 ASUS 14" G46VW
Intel dualcore i5 3230m (hyperthreading, 2.6 Ghz with turbo of 3.2 GHz)
8 GB DDR3 RAM
750 GB 5400 rpm SATA HDD
2 GB GTX 660m (equivalent to a desktop AMD HD 5770 video card)
Resolution: 1366x768
Windows 10
Metro Last Light is running with forced DX10, via user.cfg, instead of DX11 (no tesellation). Graphics settings are High, no SSAA (don't really need it), extra PhysX Off. Framerates can reach 60 FPS in dark areas dropping to a few spots of upper 30's at the most intense fights. Framerates normally stay in the 40's-50's, upper 30's-mid 40's in populated stations. No drops below 30 fps.
VSYNC is On because the game has a lot of tearing on the laptop's screen (Off on my desktop PC).
If I enable DX11 with tessellation set to High, framerates are generally in the upper 30's and mid 40's. But, it can drop to upper 20's during the most intense action, mid-30's in populated stations.
No real hiccups with running the game in either DX11 or DX10. I can also force DX9. But, I'm satisfied with DX10.

As a followup......
The level Sundown (one of the outdoors) posed a unique problem unlike the other swamp levels. This is the one level where there were a few spots that had some FPS drops to the 20's. No amount of adjusting whether going from DX10 to DX11, Normal or High detail level, seemed to work. I have to guess the dualcore CPU of my laptop is the culprit.
I mean, the game remains playable regardless. If I didn't have a frame counter, I wouldn't know any better. The framerates in the other outdoor levels aren't as bad.
I'm giving STALKER:Call of Pripyat a second attempt. Still flaky as heck though compared to Metro Last Light which ran way, way better.
Stalker. It was Skyrim with guns before Skyrim ;)
Some people bring it up when the discussion is about FPS games though. When I tried playing STALKER: CoP as a shooter, I quickly got my butt handed back to me. Once I started playing STALKER: CoP as an RPG with the emphasis on fetch quests and upgrades, the game started to make sense.
One reason I went back to sampling STALKER: Call of Pripyat is how the game renders darkness. It does pretty darn good.
However, CoP is supposed to be the most trouble-free of all the STALKER games. But, I've already had to do one reinstall after the first install became slooow when transitioning between game and menus (and vice versa). I think it started when my PC lost power after my kid unplugged the power strip from the wall. Plus, I had the XEngine crash quite a few times. To top it off, I was having framerate drops (into the 20's) in some areas. Perhaps, it was the Complete Mod that was fault. The game is too flaky to me.
Still, its good handling of darkness kept me going. I wish it was like Metro Last light though. The latter goes into solid 60 FPS every time it gets dark.
I'm not into 3rd-person shooters. But, I got Watch Dogs free with my video card. I recall two years ago when the framerates were mostly in the 30's and 40's (with Ultra + TXAAx2) but, still playable. Now, it's mostly pegged at 60 fps at Ultra + TXAAx4.
Must be Windows 10 and DX12. That or Ubisoft did a miracle job....... I think it's DX12. ;) It certainly isn't my hardware. My PC is the same one from 2013/2014.
I think I'll resume Watch Dogs after CoP. Get one more backlog out of the way.
More CoP. The occasional framerate drops and jerkiness (not related to framerate drops) really makes me think this is the flakiest (the only one, in fact) game I've seen in years. But, its appeal when it's not acting up keeps me playing. I reduced the detail from Maxed out to High and it got even more flaky. Sheesh. Fricking 19 fps with nothing to show for it.
Oh. Did I mention I already lost count of how many times my character got killed right on the first day of playing it? Cool.
@jun_aka_pekto: I really liked Watch Dogs. Not sure if I would ever play it again but I think it got more hate than it deserved.
That second screen of CoP is creepy AF.
I liked Watch Dogs as well, considering I'm not fond of 3rd-person shooters. I think Ubisoft oversold its graphics which is why the game got a lot of flak.
CoP has its moments. The game shines the most at night. Perhaps, the game setting should have been in perpetual darkness. ;) The framerate also remains better when it's dark.
More STALKER: Call of Pripyat. Finally made it to Pripyat. But, Zulu didn't make it. Took a hit for the team. ;)
^ew spam.
Squad just got a new update focusing on optimization. Maps got new lighting too. Sadly I had to removed Reshade to get the game working.
@blangenakker: Ooo you look ready to handle business that's for sure! ^_^
With the current level of image quality here, this might be a tough one!
@uninspiredcup: Dat guy with the rocket launcher better be careful I'm not so sure about him! :O
@blangenakker: Ooo Hitman and Squad very good job! ^_^
Finally....... Everyone (Zulu, Strelok, etc) died except for Vano (earlier in the game). To me, they're all cannon fodder. He He. The ending can't be good. But, I'll never know because I chose to stay in The Zone. ;-)
The game went pretty quick. The nephew helped a lot with finding stuff and providing tips. I then resorted to my earlier saved games after I found out where to look for stuff.
Metro 2033 Redux for $8 at GoG. I may buy Last Light Redux as well. The more games I wean off disc and clients, the better.
OMFG @jun_aka_pekto you're making me all nostalgic for Stalker, gotta replay that. Totally right, RPG/Shooter with guns, not just another shooter.
Anyway, I don't think I've ever posted a screenshot before, let's see if I do it right...
...hmmm apparrently all those majestic images I've been taking in Steam I've been forgetting to save. Ah well...

Yup. I hated CoP when I tried to play it like a shooter. It got waaay, waaaay, waaay better once I started treating it like an RPG. Slow down, more deliberate, do fetch quests and some moments of intense shooting.
@blangenakker: I saw that on the Steam store page and I thought "I wonder how Blangenakker's parks are doing?" NOW I KNOW!
"Masterful kill is just the best counter ever!
This place really is "clothing optional".
