nvidia physx

Ok so i just ordered the xfx 4890 for my computer and then I did some reading and simultaneously found out that i could use my 8800gt as a physics proccessing unit coupled with the 4890 for graphics and that nvidia has since disabled this in post 186 drivers. I know this happened months ago but is there a way around this? God we would all be screwed if all companies did this, F U nvidia

what are you talkng about, nvidia supported the guy who came up with using physx on ATI cards they sent him documentation and everything. ive not heard anything about them taking it back.

PhysX is stupidity marketing at it's max.For one,in Dark Void,my framerate went from 60 to 20 from setting PhysX to low,and also what didI get?More particles appearing after shooting and enemy with a certain weapon.FTW.Who the hell needs PhysX?

Ati make better,cheaper,faster and cooler graphics cards,and have the best brands.Call me a fanboy,but when my new card goes at 60 degrees when the fan is not working and i'm playing Far Cry 2,and my old card to 90 with fan full power,something is fishy.

Okay, you're an ignorant fanboy. There. Said it. It's the hardware vendor that makes the cards, and a lot of them make for both companies. The only valid argument you made was cheaper.

i own a gtx260/216 and got to say nvidia physx sux

Physx adds more effects,objects and interactions with material and objects. You cant just run physx with one card (gtx 260 or lower) also running the graphics, your going to have framerate issues because your card has a bigger work load. Grabbing a 8600gts, 9500gt, 9600, or gt210/220 will allow you to use physx without having your main gpu having to do both jobs.04dcarraher
