New GPU for Christmas!

Hi guys! My 7970 fried completely and after a week of crying in my room, locked, I realised it's time to move on and get a new GPU, this time spending less money.

Wich GPU would you recommend for someone with a budget of like 250 euros (can stretch to 280-300 easily).

Either r9 290 or GTX 970 should be inside the stretched budget.

LOL, I was depressed for a week and drank myself to sleep when my PSU started acting up. Turns out Corsair issued a recall on my model for having a faulty bus connection. Got a free replacement to a better model.

Good thing I keep my old ones just in case, but if this was your first gpu, I'd be upset.
Either card that was suggested should be nice for you. I hope you can find a 970.

lol im running my same psu and hard drives since ive built this rig which those parts are approaching 10 years old everything else is different than original y i luv building my own rig :)

Either way I'm looking for the 970, I think I'll try the Nvidia route this time, probably the Asus model. Either that or the Sapphire Tri-x r9 290

Woo, let us know what you wind up with and how it works out! I almost almost upgraded my GPU around the BF/Cyber Monday deals they were chucking around, but I decided to hold off for the new revisions coming out next year - see what they're all about
