Haven't seen this posted so I thought I'd share. EA/DICE are coming out with a new Battlefield game that will be free to play. It is using Team Fortress 2's cartoon style graphics and can run on a rig as low as 1GHz CPU, 512 RAM, w/ a 64mb Video Card. It'll be advertisement driven. Instead of a low amount of health, you'll have a high amount of health. There's also a shorter spawn time. It seems they also are copying Call of Duty 4 with a new abilities system, which will let you use a special ability of your choice with many of them being unlocked as you keep playing.
No more Conquest mode either. Instead there's a similar game mode. Each side gets a set limit of lives, and capturing control points increases the total number of lives you take for every kill. To defend themselves from the "You ripped off Team Fortress" argument, they said this idea dates back to Battlefield 1942.
Other notes:
- Smaller Maps
- Intelligent Auto-Spawn Selection
- Planes will be slow, and every weapon will deal damage to them.
- No more prone. Crouching doesn't increase accuracy.
- You can choose to spend money if you wish to level up quicker.
- Free-to-play player and Cash players are equal.
- Game is played entirely in third person. If enough people complain, they'll add a first-person mode.
