AMD is fine with gaming but intel is better.

Get the Q6600, its better, its faster and its quad core.

Just because one processor has higher Mhz than the other, doesnt mean its faster.

The X2 6400+ is a decent performer,but i'd get a E6750 or a Q6600 over it.

I thought you would have learned back in the Pentium 4 days that clock speed isn't everything. Intel sure did, and they released the Core and Core 2 architectures that performed far better than their prior NetBurst-based offerings at much lower clock speeds. (And with Core 2, they also managed to overthrow AMD and become the performance kings-a much-needed victory after being dominated so long by the Athlon 64 and X2 architectures.) That Q6600 will demolish anything AMD currently has to offer, especially if you overclock it to 3.0 GHz or so. Also, here's an excellent analogy from this thread:
My car goes faster than a truck. Does that mean I have more horsepower? No. it's the same for CPU's. It's not just how fast you can carry something, but also how much you can carry at that speed. Gog
