The Steam sale is still available where I am, and I have been wondering about this game... It looks really nice, but my only concern is that it's a platformer - and I am terrible at platformers. Any opinions?

I bought it when it first came out on 360 for full price, it was a bit short but refreshing and fun. I definatly can recommend it for 5 bucks (i picked it up again yesterday for 2,50 Euro, a steal) you won't have too many problems with the platforming, well maybe in the later levels but usually its not that hard, just unusual because of the first person view.
The graphics are amazing on PC.
Yeah. It's not a great game, but the concept is neat, and there's still nothing quite like this game out there. Some fantastic moments, as well as some incredibly frustrating ones. It's also a great-looking game. For $5, it's definitely worth it. I got it for €15, and that's about as much as I'd pay for it.
I agree! It is a truly original experience. It became immediately one of my favourite games. I do hope there will be a sequel. Buy it$5!? Thats a steal. Mirror's Edge is def. worth more than that

Yes its defiantly worth it!
The only problem I had with the game is its length, but everything else is fantastic.
Hope we get a part2!
Also this is probably the 3rd or 4th best looking game right now still.
In a day and age where games dont take chances and just do MORE OF THE SAME, it was nice to play a unique/original game like MIRRORS EDGE.
I saw that price on Steam, but how does it play with keboard/mouse as I don't have a gamepad? I played the demo on the PS3 and liked it, but just curious if it is too hard or not with k/m.
incredibly awsome game, what it lacks in perfection it makes up for in sheer stupid fun. That's what mirror's edge is, it's just fun. There are a few annoying platforming parts but well worth it, for 5$ that's almost a must buy unless you only enjoy rts or rpg games. it's fine with pc controls, just buy it already.

I beat the entire game with kb/m and I didn't experience any problems with the controls.
