the only thing I can think of is Vista might be taking up some of your RAM
check your PSU and see if it is good enough to handle dual 3870's also
and as a last resort...update your video card drivers
update to catalsyt 8.3 drivers
well thats not enough info what is the resolution you are playing at?
you can upgrade to 4gbs but you will see no improvement at all in games, its most likely driver support and also your playing at such a relatively low res that your not really going to see the benefits of two cards, also vysnc to.yoyo462001I dont think so my friend, we are talking about Vista here not XP. IF people are recommending 2gb for the XP gaming-setups then what Vista should do ?
Update your driver and spend long time considering about getting another 2gig of rams. I'd not recommend less than 3gb for Vista gaming at all and since you already have 64bit version then 4gig should be your next shot.
Im sure that the ram will do alot of work, other than that, it should be something else causing this.
@sab : I think he should be playing under 1240x1080, right ?SearchMaster
19" screens usually run at 1440x900.
kaspersky, But I always close it when I game.Coughsoh yeah i heard cod4 had a dual card option...might wanna check that and see if it helps

I have VISTA and well CoD4 works perfectly fine with 2 gig, I play completely maxed out top AA and AF at a resolution of 1680x1050. You will not see a FPS increase with 4 gig but the game will run smoother in areas i guess. shearMarioThe gaming experience isnt only how many FPS u can get, theres another factors that you need to consider about as well and in some cases its more important than getting couple more FPS

I'm aware of that, what I'm saying is getting more RAM is not going to fix his low fps problem which is afterall what he is asking not that his game is stuttering sometimes.
Can someone help me then and if turn off you aero desktop before playing will that help?CoughsWell wait just exactly how much low your FPS goes.If it goes below 50 at times than i dont see a huge problem with that.:?
And when COD4 came CF did not work with it at all although recent drivers may have fixed that.
you know on the 3780x2 am I meant to plug the 2 slots on the card to the power supply or just 1?CoughsThe 3870X2 requires 2 6-pin connectors and one 8-pin if you want to overclock.

He is getting as low as 14fps which is obviously not what he has to bear with.Your resolution is so low, Coughs, that it's not a problem with your card. In fact, your card is being CPU bottlenecked in that resolution.
It's just a performance hiccup that you have to deal with.

Well he could've mentioned that in the first post... :|
Coughs, do you get this problem at a higher resolution? e.g. 1680x1050 and higher?
