What games are similar to The Settlers but with no warefare & fighting?

My girlfirend likes playing these type of games but she doesn't like having to fight, she doesn't like turn based games so Civilization is out (there is also to much fighting in that game) and she doesn't like Sci-Fi so any space games are out? She already tried the new The Settlers but didn't like.

What can you reccomend?

Sim City? :)

It is hard to find pure builder games these days because it's more realistic and more interesting to have to deal with other things at the same time, like war. However, most RTS games that are heavily building and researching oriented (Like Empires: Dawn of the Modern World) and games like Civilization can have "No Wars" mode turned on if you really want to avoid it.

I'm beginning to see that, even if the fighting is minimal it would be good. She enjoyed The Settlers IV, that was more economical based and not too much fighting. She also enjoyed Spellforce any other suggestions?

Anno 1404. I think its perfect, similar to Settlers and the closest you'll probably get; combat is very light and in continous mode you can customise game conditions and so not have any combat at all. I've actually started playing Anno 1404 again from yesterday really good, lots of depth and so much to do but I try to limit myself playing games like these as it just sucks you in:P.

Anno 1404

There is a demo too.

You could also look at RollerCoaster Tycoon and Railroad Tycoon as well.

Tropico 3 springs to mind, also Port Royale 2 is a Pirate based one but can be played without having to battle much.

Anno 1404 is by far the best :) the expansion Venice is also very good, other options would be Tropico 3 which is also a superb game (you can grab it on Steam for 7.5 €/$ till the 21st :P).

Anno has more depth in trading and building, but Tropico has more details on managing, economy and population control so even tho Anno is awesome, Tropico 3 would fit better for what you want, tell her to try the demo but hey it's only 7.5, it's a steal at that price :P.
