I'm just wondering which of the following games allows for larger scale battles; supreme commander and expansion or sins of a solar empire (I know both are very different ,sins isn't really an rts), but I would just like your opinion on which one has the larger scale and allows more combat units on screen. thank you

I own both but haven't had much time with Sins, I would try the demos (there is one for each) and try to do a normal skirmish if it lets you to try to get a feel for the battles.

Supreme commander has the largest scale battlefield and most units on screen. Sins is set in space.. but its different. Try the demos.

I would say Sins has a larger scale, but SupCom is also a great option, and offers more variety in terms of how the battles play out.

Sins has the larger scale. Endgame battles on Sins can be INSANE. Ive had battles with like 3 other bots envolved. Those battles are larger than Supreme Commanders. Both games are huge and epic though you really couldnt go wrong.

Sins. Like people have said, the late-stage battles are insane and can last up to an hour if you have twenty or thirty capital ships going at each other.

Check out Warhammer Mark of Chaos. Those are some good old-fashioned axe-to-face battles with good numbers.

Is not a "large scale RTS" in any sense of the phrase.

Sins is the bigger of the two but for number of units Stronghold Crusader tops all. It's rather old however.
