Haven't played since may, but I can tell you there's a free endless trial (lvls 1-10, tier 1 empire vs chaos) that you can download/stream to give you an idea.
Tier 1 isn't :) that place is hoppin' When I was last there, most Tier 2+ people were coming down to Tier 1 to play anyways, but I never noticed a serious lack of players in Tier 2. Of course, I was just doing scenarios... This was a couple months ago probly.
