is the Sony 37" Flat-Panel LCD HDTV** (KDL37M3000) a good tv for games?

Yeah ... but at 37" you might want to try this Toshiba or this Sharp for a better price (around $900 new)

I've been considering buying one of these ... but I can't decide. The Toshiba has better brand quality and extra HDMI and component inputs, but the Sharp has a better contrast ratio and response time ... I can't choose!!!

the 3000 series is good. i wouldnt get anything earlier than that though. the 2000 series had clouding issues, and sony SUCKS when it comes to warranties.

for 1200 bux though, you can do much better.

Check deal sites. Read reviews & discussions about the deals. My advice, be patient and get the best TV you can reasonably afford that's on a good sale.

some sites to check (check daily if you have the money and are willing to purchase, since some of the best deals only last one or two days).

(note: you can use the "Title Search:" to search for LCD or HDTV or Plasma or whatever.)

e.g. there was a 42" Panasonic TH-42PX75U plasma for like $900 a month or so back (@ Sears). A much better TV imho.
