Alright right now I am comaparing the P42G25 and the P42S2. And by looking at there prices there is about a $200 jump in the price of the two models. So I am wondering is the G25 worth the extra $$$? Also I have one other question when I buy one of these TVs I will need a HDMI cable for my xbox 360 and soon to be PS3. So which HDMI is the best? I heard that not all of them do 1080p and what brand name should I look for?

Its said the current S2 is about equal to last year's G10, so I would say yes to getting the G25. In the long run a few hundred for an improved picture quality is well worth it imho, unless there is something else you feel that $200 should go towards. As fir an HDMI cord you'll most likely want a HDMI v1.3b which are around $5 to $20 each. Don't spend $50 to $100 on HDMI because some brands such as monster will just rip you off.

Well I am 17 right now and I only work 20 hours a week (unfortunatly) and so I don't make that much money. And more then half my paycheck goes to my car. And if it is just going to be in my room. Is it even worth that much of a investment? Beside I will proubly get a new TV in like 2-3 years. So if i spend less on this one buy a new tv so soon wont be that big of a deal. And can you give me a link to the HDMI you would buy?

I'm glad this thread was made because I just bought this TV. Please forgive my ignorance on the subject, but is the optical audio cable on the P42G25 the same as the one used on the motherboard linked below? I need to hook my PC up to it when it arrives because I don't have separate speakers. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131196

TVs only have a optical output, not an input. Well, some might but those ones have built/tacked on sound bars that support playing DD or DTS.

I am in the same situation but I have a different question. Should I get a S2 with a PS3 or should I get a G25 and play it with my already owned 360 and Wii. The extra price difference would help me buy a PS3 but I cannot spend the extra cash if I buy the G25. Let me know what you think because your opinion matters to me.
