Topic seems straight forward enough. I heard about this from my brother but does anyone use their ps3 controller on their pc, I'd like it if someone could confirm this for me :) thanks.

Yes, with the free software called Motioninjoy. With that said, the blu tooth (wired isnt too bad) setup is a serious pain. I just caved and bought a wirless 360 controller and I am so glad I did. It will make playing the few games I play with controller so much easier and more enjoyable.

Tes. Download Motionjoy and get Xpadder too (for button mapping)

Wireless is fine once you pair it up.

Just remember, you'll need a bluetooth dongle and you need to select Xbox controller emulator for the mode, even though you're using a PS3 pad.

You can map the buttons in Motionjoy. Click on the options link next to "Xbox 360 Controller Emulator".

You can use pretty much any controller on a PC, including the PS3 one.

Do you absolutely need a blu tooth adapter or can you plug the controller in with the standard usb cord it comes with and use it that way?

According to the definition of "plug and play", no. If you're willing to get third party software and manually map your buttons, yes.

Both, I got $3 bluetooth that was unstable, but the wired way works much often than BT. So I think wired is better for uninterrupted play (batteries, etc) unless you must use BT.

So yeah by PC standards is it is plug n play as long as you download motionjoy and have an of at least iq 80+ to use it :P

Yes it works pretty much flawlessly. I prefer the PS3 controller over the 360 one so I was pleased to find out that it works so well.

Yea it works great, thats what I used to use until I sold my PS3. Just use motionjoy and make sure its on Xbox 360 emulator. I also bought a bluetooth dongle on ebay for like $2 and it works flawlessly really happy with it and for $2 its hard not to love it.

Yes. Though everybody knows about motionjoy, it's a really dodgy software and I wouldn't recommend installing it on your computer. Read this post on how to get your ps3 controller on pc working using safe drivers: http://blog.hardcoregaming101.net/2011/08/ps3-sixaxis-on-x64-windows-pc.html

The best thing Microsoft did for console gaming was design the 360 controller. And since every game supports it with plug-and-play I couldnt be happier.

ds3tool (same thing as motionjoy) just hit the emulate the 360 button. To get bluetooth working, depends on your bluetooth controller. The recommended one they posted works wonders, except it's not on amazon. I use that on my other computer. On my desktop I have an asus usb bluetooth adapter, and you have to uninstall it in the device manger a few times, then it pops up. Common issue. You can just use USB if you don't want wireless though.
