Fallout 2 is turn based last time I checked. A lot more slower paced, more story driven, and character attribute driven game. Your actions also affect what happens later on. It even has it's own Karma system. That said I prefer Diablo 2 but that's just me. Fallout 3 looks promising.
I say that Fallout 2 >>>> Diablo 2 cuz D2 is just a Hack'n'Slash RPG and F2 is a hardcore RPG. And F2 is post-apocaliptic and D2 is fantasy....so i don't see any similarities.
