Was thinking about getting the barracuda AC, its on sale and I have the headsets, But what does it do so well that my current card can not do ? i have a Audigy SE at the moment and would either like to get the new sound-card, or another video card and crossfire. which would be the better route to go ?

Still inferior to the entry-level $30 sound cards though, right? I was thining of picking up a Creative one for $30, but don't know if it's worth it (I use headphones a lot)

If it's a not a non-XtremeAudio X-Fi card or an Auzentech X-Meridian, I wouldn't even get a sound card for a modern PC. As for whether or not a high-end sound card is worth it? When my 8800 GT arrives, I'll test it out on my new gaming PC that I'm just getting up running right now, which has an Auzentech X-Fi Prelude installed.

I have a sound blaster audigy 4 in my pc and I bought it about 8 or 9 months or so and it still runs ok and it sounds ok as well.

I'm not sure how good it is these days anymore.
