I'm raging about Rage

Glad I just spent 60 bucks on Rage for PC since everything in game looks like **** What a crap year for PC graphics (Witcher 2 aside). God they need to release new consoles so our PC games stop getting raped. What two new games this year did we have that were supposed to blow us away and set a new standard? Crysis 2 and Rage, both on new "next-gen" engine, and both looked like **** At least we got the patches for Crysis 2, but think what could have been had it been developed for PC like the first one. I don't really even blame the developers (although they could have done more with these textures in Rage for us PC gamers), they want to sell games and the consoles are the best way of doing that. I'm constantly seeing idiots posting crap like "I don't want new consoles, games look almost photorealistic now." What a load of nonsense! I want what they're smoking! I never get on forums and fuss about this stuff but I'm really fed up here. Jeez!

Rage's issues aren't just with the graphics.

There you have it, BF3, a graphical powerhouse running on a next gen engine,buy it and get your graphics fix.

Rage was never meant to push PC graphics anyway, it was always a console focused project and id was very clear about this from the start.

Shogun II and Crysis 2 also looked amazing and were very advanced graphics wise.

I agree even though Shogun 2 didn't stick for me like M:TW2 did (12 hours played versus 300+ hours played). The graphics were great even on the campaign map.... Obviously not photo realistic there but the battles were really incredible looking.

don't tell me you just went out and bought Rage, if it was a preorder fair enough. But no one has an excuse now because it sucks and everyone should know.mep69

I traded in a bunch of games I did't want and Rage was the only theing currently out the semi-interested me. :( I've already got BF3 and Skyrim on preorder so this was pretty much it.

I have no doubt that BF3 will look good, but we'll see if there's really that much difference between the PC and console versions. Furthermore, even if it's utterly amazing, that doesn't change the fact that console limitations are holding back the industry in general, which was my initial point. As for Rage, it doesn't need to "push PC graphics" it just needs to not have ugly blurry crappy looking textures. Metro 2033 was on XBOX 360 and PC but the PC version didn't look like crap.
