You might want to wait another few weeks.

I work for Dell, so this is a little insider information. :D

Starting Tomorrow June 26th, Dell is rolling out brand new models of notebooks and desktops. More powerful, and more customizable than any of the other competitors. The XPS H720C is already a gaming beast (fully customized out puts it around $10,000, and its the worlds only quad core processor) http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/xpsdt_720h2c?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn but soon all dell pc's will be blu ray fitted if you choose. PC games will start to be put on blu ray within 6-9 months dealing another blow to HD-DVD.

New notebooks with an array of colored shells to let you personalize your laptop more should start being advertised tomorrow, as well as a new XPS 1330 model that is a slot loaded 13 inch screen heavy hitting laptop. 4 gigs of memory in that little bad boy if you want it.

If you have questions, Ill try to answer them.

That does sound enticing, but I highly doubt PC Games will begin to arrive on Blu-Ray, as there just isn't enough people using them. Not to mention, what's the point when PC Games are installed on Harddrives? There's no need for Blu-ray on PC, but there is an argument to be made for console, since the games are streamed. Also, look how long it took for publishers to adopt DVD-Rom for PC, a very long time, and still some games come on CD.

This is why smart people build their own PC's. You can safe hell of a lot of money by building your own.

Try building a pc with a blu ray burner for 2 grand.

Or a quad core processor in it for that price. The quad core is about a grand itself.

And yes blu ray games are coming. We just had a seminar this past week where all this was discussed.

Actually a top of the line Dell is about 6000 ( with monitor)

And it is a beast....spitting out 17000 + in 3D 06 scores....and Dells service for XPS systems is exceptional ( and in English..ha ha )

Yes you can build one cheaper....but who you going to call to fix it? You can return a whole system to Dell if it's still under warranty...they will actually send you a new one first! Before you even box up the old one to return it!

I've bought Dells before and have been very happy...my last one lasted 6 years with only a video card upgrade here and there....and I was able to play most games with good graphic settings..

Go ahead and laugh...but for some people Dell is the way to go...nothing wrong with Dell..

Of course I build my own rigs now....a heck of alot cheaper...and I'm pretty tech savvy so I have 0 problems..

Dude...your getting a Dell! ( As soon as the spokesman gets out of jail for marijuana position)...I thought for along time that dude was Ashton Krutcher...

Nice stuff, Dells, but I like custom PCs better....save me a little cash, plus custom PC cases are just better looking :) Infact, I needed major upgrades and I turned my Dell 8400 desktop into a custom PC lol. But now we await the day when 8800 GTS/GTX get's mobile :D

Dells are good for laptops but I would never let them rip me off with the price of those desktops.

By the way you can get Quad core for 600 now so yea.. build your own youll get mutch better stuff.

If you build your own PC I would hope you can fix it yourself.

I just keep my system evolving as new hardware comes out, you just have to plan for the future. I put about $500 a year into it and it stays able to play current games at max or near max settings in 1680x1050 resolution.

I loved my dell when i got it like 6 years ago - it was solid - and NEVER EVER had a problem with it - but at this point I know how to build my own so I prefer doing that simply because it is rewarding in itself to build your own gaming computer - like a sense of fulfillment you know.
BUT if you have the money to spend and don't want to go through the effort of learning to build your own - then Dell does offer decent hardware.

A dual layer blu-ray burner cost less than $500. Your crazy. The cheapest player out there is $499 and its not a burner. There is a samsung burner that costs a little over $500 and it takes aprox 43 minutes to burn a bd.. so yeah.. get that one. /sarcasm

I have built my own pc's for years, but anymore if your wanting to LEGALLY put on all the software and stuff that you want, its not much of a price difference if you buy one instead of building it. The good side is a warranty too if something happens that you dont know how to fix. Its amazing how instead of talking about stuff people unitelligently start bashing. dell sucks, one thing i always thought was stupid in some on their so called XPS machines, they put a 7900gt with a physx card on a sli mobo with a 1000 watt PSU, what the hell is the point of that? you cant even OC non-custom made pcs because they lock the bios, maybe you can sometimes but I've yet to see it, anyways, my PC already gets 18000+ 3Dmarks in 06 and i didnt even pay more than $2000 for it. I work with my dad with his computer business, and we get so many crap dells in here its not even funny, they come to us over going to you, sad how much faith they have in you, and its sad how many of their PC's are just junk.

Not as of now, but a 1330 is coming out and the M1210 is going to be phased out. There is a new 15 inch model to replace the Inspiron E1505 and E1501, but not an xps machine.

There are Blu ray burners for 449.00 from Liteon and aQ6600 is $485.00. There is no way it would cost me $6000 to buildthat PC. It will probably cost $4000 orless.PC parts also come with warranties....the motherboard is covered for a year, memory is lifetime, hard drive is 5 years and up etc. The dell standard warranty is only one year unless you pay extra.

Sorry I don't believe games are coming on blu ray disc anytime soon. Developers prefer to keep game installs as small as possible topreserve hard drive space and performance. Imagine if all the games we installed were 25 gigs? Imagine how long the loads time will be.

I know this isn't the place to ask but, I'm currently looking for a new Video card and I am wondering where the best place to buy it is. I'm in Canada, but any any place online that sells is ok. I have a question about these two video cards and I want to know which one is better.

This is the first one: 128MB PNY GeForce FX 5700 AGP8x TV Tuner DDR PCFX5700APB. And here's the site. http://www.compuvest.com/Description.jsp?iid=459632&cid=304&sid=0

Here is the last one: 256MB PNY GeForce FX5200 DDR VGA VGA TV AGP8x VCGFX522APB, And again gere is the site. http://www.compuvest.com/Description.jsp?iid=392664&cid=304&sid=0

I want to play some good games, but my current VC is crap. I CAN'T EVEN PLAY HALO or World of Warcraft (not a good enough 3d Accelerator card. Assumes that is a Video Card).

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I didnt say it was going to be the standard in 6-9 months, simply stating that it will be a means of getting them.

Laugh all you want, when you see all the stuff I posted originally coming true, then you can say something.
